SICK LEAVE (Continued. 17.8 An employee may use sick leave for safety leave for assistance to themselves or their relatives as described in paragraph 17.7. For the purpose of this paragraph, “safety leave” is leave for the purpose of providing or receiving assistance because of sexual assault, domestic abuse or stalking, as those terms have meaning in Minnesota Statutes 181.9413. Such use of sick leave is subject to the limitations included in paragraph 17.7.
