Common use of Sick Leave During Leave of Absence and Lay Clause in Contracts

Sick Leave During Leave of Absence and Lay. off When an employee is given leave of absence for any reason up to thirty (30) work days, he/she shall receive sick leave credit for the period of such absence on his/her return to work. When an employee is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not receive sick leave credits for the period of such absence but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such lay-off.
