Sick Leave - Notice. (a) To be entitled to sick leave during a period, the employee must give the Employer notice in accordance with this clause that the employee is (or will be) absent from work during the period because of a personal illness, or injury, of the employee. (b) Employees are required where practicable to notify the supervisor of days absent through sickness prior to the commencement of the shift on every day of the absence. Failure to notify absence will result in the employee being deemed to be absent without leave. (c) The notice must be to the effect that the employee requires (or required) leave during the period because of a personal illness, or injury, of the employee. (d) This section does not apply to the employee who could not comply with it because of circumstances beyond the employee’s control.
