Sick Leave - Notice. (a) To be entitled to sick leave during a period, an employee must give the employer notice in accordance with this clause that the employee is (or will be) absent from work during the period because of a personal illness, or injury, of the employee. (b) The notice must be given to the employer as soon as reasonably practicable (which may be at a time before or after the sick leave has started). (c) The notice must be to the effect that the employee requires (or required) leave during the period because of a personal illness, or injury, of the employee. (d) This clause does not apply to an employee who could not comply with it because of circumstances beyond the employee’s control.
