Common use of SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM Clause in Contracts

SIGN LANGUAGE PREMIUM. ‌ Any qualified employee covered by the provisions of the MOU who has been certified as proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) to provide City services to the deaf community, and who is requested by the employing department to utilize ASL skills in the performance of their job duties, shall be compensated at the first premium level rate above their step rate of the salary range for their class for each business day the skill is utilized. Such premium pay shall be administered in accordance with and subject to all requirements and provisions of Section 4.84.1 of the LAAC. Additional compensation is non-pensionable.
