Standby - Maintenance Department. (a) Each Employee on standby from 2300 Sunday to 2300 Friday will receive one (1) hour pay at straight time for each total of eight (8) hours on standby. Any total less than eight (8) will be pro-rated to the hourly wage. (b) Each Employee on standby from 2300 Friday to 2300 Sunday will receive one and one-half (1½) hours’ pay for each total of eight (8) hours on standby. Any total less than eight (8) hours will be pro-rated to the hourly wage. (c) The Employee on Standby shall receive one day off in lieu of standby to be taken in the week following the Employee’s week of standby. This eight (8) hours will be subtracted from the total hours paid for standby, the balance of which will be paid out as regular wages. If the Employer is faced with an emergency situation, the Employer may schedule the Employee to work at straight time with the understanding that the day in lieu will be rescheduled at a mutually agreeable time. (d) The Employer shall pay a minimum pay of three (3) hours at time and one-half (1 ½) of the normal hourly rate for reporting to work while on standby. The half (1/2) hour travelling time will be considered as time worked. An Employee called back to work will be eligible to receive shift premium for all hours worked. The standby allowance will be separate from call-back pay and will be paid for the entire shift whether or not a call-back situation occurs. There will be no standby premium for statutory holidays.
