Holidays to be Observed. (F/T,P/T) (a) The following shall be observed by the Employer as paid holidays for employees: New Year's Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Remembrance Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday Plus any other day proclaimed hereafter by the Federal or Provincial Government shall be recognized as an additional holiday. (F/T) (b) In addition to the holidays listed above, each full-time employee of the Bargaining Unit shall be allowed two (2) additional holidays to be known as Floating Holidays, one granted effective January 1 and one effective July 1. The date and time for taking the Floating Holidays shall be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the employee. Should the Federal or Provincial Government proclaim a holiday to be observed in February, one of the Floating Holidays shall be considered to be the day so proclaimed to be fixed on the same date as the proclaimed holiday. (P/T) (c) In addition to the holidays listed in (a) above, each part-time employee shall be allowed February 1st and June 1st in lieu of the Floating Holidays enjoyed by full-time employees. Should the Federal or Provincial Government proclaim a holiday to be observed in February, the February 1st holiday shall be cancelled in lieu of the newly proclaimed holiday.
Holidays to be Observed. 9-1 The following days will be observed holidays: New Year’s Day – Xxxxx Xxxx Xxx (or so designated by any other name) - Good Friday – Easter Monday – Victoria Day – Canada Day – Xxxxx Xxx Day – Labour Day – Remembrance Day – Thanksgiving Day – Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Any additional holiday proclaimed by the City of Winnipeg, Province of Manitoba or the Government of Canada. The Easter Monday holiday will be observed on Easter Sunday for the Operations Division only.
9-2 All holidays named above will be observed, and the holiday rate paid, on the day proclaimed as the holiday by the Civic, Provincial or Federal Government. Except that if holidays fall on Saturday or Sunday, Plant and Equipment Division employees who would not normally work on that Saturday or Sunday may elect a day off in lieu, on a day mutually agreeable between Management and the employee and in keeping with the requirements of the service.
9-3 Hourly rated employees who are laid off, or exercise their option of booking off, or where the holiday falls on a regular day off, will receive seven and one-half (7½) hours of pay, or their normal day’s pay if their normal day of work is less than seven and one-half (7½) hours. Except for employees who normally work less than seven and one-half (7½) hours, employees who work on observed holidays will receive seven and one-half (7½) hours of pay plus time and one-half (1.5x) for all time worked, or on report, except that if time worked on the holiday, including time on report, exceeds seven and one-half (7½) hours, they will be paid double time (2x) for all time in excess of seven and one-half (7½) hours. Weekly rated employees who work on these holidays will be paid, in addition to the regular weekly pay, time and one-half (1.5x) for the time so worked up to seven and one-half (7½) hours – double time (2x) thereafter.
9-4 Every employee who does not work on any of the “Holidays to be Observed” in this Agreement that falls on a regular working day, shall be paid at least the equivalent of the wages he/she would have earned on that day had that day not been a holiday, notwithstanding that the employee is paid on a monthly, weekly, daily, hourly or other basis.
9-5 Employees will receive pay for observed holidays if they work full time on the last working day before and the first working day after these holidays. The Manager of the Division may authorize payment to any employee who works less than his/her regular shift on his/her last working ...

(b) In addition to the holidays listed above, each Employee of the Bargaining Unit shall be allowed one
(1) additional holiday to be known as a Floating Holiday and granted effective January 2nd. (For administrative purposes only - the entitlement to use January 1st as the Floating Holiday will remain in place). The date and time for taking the Floating Holiday shall be mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee. (F/T)
(c) Employees will be allowed to take lieu days upon mutual agreement between the Employer and the Employee. All lieu days not taken in the calendar year, in excess of five (5), would be paid out at the end of the year. (P/T)
(d) In addition to the holidays listed in (a) above, each part-time Employee shall be allowed January 1st in lieu of the Floating Holiday enjoyed by full-time Employees. Part-time Employees shall be allowed to accumulate one (1) floating holiday for emergency use should they qualify for the stat in any given year. Stats not used in that calendar year would be paid out at the end of the year. The Employee must request that the stat be banked prior to the applicable pay period. (F/T, P/T)
(e) It is understood that for Employees whose regular shift begins at 2300, the twenty-four (24) hour period for a paid holiday for time keeping purposes begins at 2300 the day preceding the holiday to 2300 the day of the holiday.

Holidays to be Observed. Employees shall be entitled to the following paid holidays: New Year's Day, Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Jr's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, plus a floating holiday for non-probationary employees.

All employees shall receive the following paid holidays without loss of wages or salary and when such holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday shall be deemed to be a holiday for the purpose of this Agreement. Day Good Friday Labour Day Easter Monday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day 2002 And any other day proclaimed by the Federal, Provincial or Municipal Governments.
Holidays to be Observed. When an employee who qualifies for the paid holiday and is required to work on a paid holiday, such employee shall receive, in addition to his normal pay for that day, one and one-half (1 times pay for the first eight (8)hours worked and double thereafter. Alternatively the employee who qualifies for the paid holiday may take a day off with normal pay at a mutually agreeable time in the future rather than receiving his normal pay for that day. paid straight time for hours worked on the holiday.
