Common use of STATE HOLIDAYS Clause in Contracts

STATE HOLIDAYS. CHP offices will be closed on any holiday that falls on or is observed on a weekday, unless otherwise stated. CHP observes the holidays identified on the California Department of Human Resources web-site: xxxx://xxx.xxxxx.xx.xxx/employees/Pages/state-holidays.aspx. 1. Contractor shall, without expense to CHP or the state, maintain or cause to be maintained and in effect, at all times during the term of the agreement, with insurers of recognized reputation and responsibility, a valid certificate of Commercial General Liability Insurance with the following State of California requirements: a. The certificate of insurance shall state an amount of Commercial General Liability of no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage liability combined. b. If applicable, the certificate of insurance shall state an amount of Automobile Liability of no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage liability combined. c. If applicable, the certificate of insurance shall state an amount of Pollution Liability of no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence, which shall provide for work performed on-site as well as during the transport of hazardous materials. (Applicable only when services involve handling of toxic or hazardous substances). d. Contractor shall maintain statutory workers’ compensation and employer’s liability coverage for all its employees who will be engaged in the performance of the contract, including special coverage extensions where applicable. Employer’s liability limits of $1,000,000 shall be required. e. Contractor shall acquire and submit to CHP, and thereafter maintain for the contract term and any extension thereof, an original fidelity bond in an amount not less than $25,000, to cover any loss to the State due to any fraudulent or dishonest act on the part of the Contractor, its agents and employees and its subcontractors, or any officer, employee, or agent thereof. (Applicable only to janitorial services agreement). 2. Contractor shall provide a certificate of insurance evidencing the below prior to the scheduled performance of the agreement. All Certificates of Insurance identified below shall indicate CHP contract number and be submitted to: 3. The certificate of insurance shall: a. Be issued by an insurance company acceptable to Department of General Services (DGS), Office of Risk and Insurance Management (ORIM) or be provided through a partial or total self-insurance acceptable to DGS/ORIM. The certificate of insurance shall meet additional standards as may be determined by the contracting state agency, either independently or in consultation with ORIM, for protection of the state. b. Name the State as additional insured as follows: c. Provide that the insurer shall not cancel the insured’s coverage without five (5) business days prior written notice to the state. Contractor is responsible to notify the State within five (5) business days of any cancellation, non-renewal or material change that affects required insurance coverage. d.
