Stewards. a. The Employer Union shall furnish the City with an accurate written list of stewards and alternate stewards. The Unions may submit amendments to this list at any time because of the permanent absence of a designated xxxxxxx. If a xxxxxxx is not officially designated in writing by a Union, none will be recognized for that area or shift.
b. The Unions recognize that it is the responsibility of the xxxxxxx to assist in the resolution of grievances at the lowest possible level.
56. c. Upon notification of a designated management person, stewards or designated by officers of the Unions subject to management approval which shall not be unreasonably withheld shall be granted reasonable release time to investigate and process grievances and appeals. Stewards shall advise their supervisors of the area or work location where they will be investigating or processing grievances. Stewards. Recognizing the importance of the role of the Union xxxxxxx in re- solving problems or disputes between the Employer and its employ- ees, the Employer reaffirms its commitment to the active involve- ment of union stewards in such processes in accordance with the terms of this Article. The Job Xxxxxxx or the representative or the designated alternate shall be permitted reasonable time to investi- gate, present and process grievances on the Company’s property without interruption of the Employer’s operation. Upon notification to their supervisor, a xxxxxxx shall be afforded the right to leave their work area for a reasonable period of time to investigate, present and process grievances and to represent a fellow employee concerning grievances or discipline so long as such activity does not interrupt the Employer’s operations. Stewards. A. Each Local Union shall have the right to designate a working journeyperson as a Xxxxxxx (and an alternate who shall serve as a Xxxxxxx only when the regular Xxxxxxx is unavail- able) and shall notify the Contractor(s) or sub-contractor(s) and CM of the identity of the desig- nated Xxxxxxx (and alternate) prior to the assumption of such duties with the understanding that at no time shall there be more than one designated Xxxxxxx and one designated alternate per trade on the Project Site regardless of the number of Contractors on the Project Site.. Stewards shall not exercise supervisory functions and will receive the regular rate of pay for their craft classifi- cations. There will be no non-working Stewards on the Project.
B. Stewards. The Employer will recognize stewards designated by the Union who will be responsible for investigating and processing grievances and participating in any hearings or conferences related to the grievance. Typically, a grievance will have no more than one one
(1) xxxxxxx in attendance, unless the presence of a second xxxxxxx is part of the training process for the second xxxxxxx, in addition to a staff representative, but there shall be no more than two (2) stewards in attendance at all times. In addition, at all correctional facilities, there shall be a primary and an alternate xxxxxxx designated by the Union on all primary shifts who will be responsible for non-grievance activities related to the administration of this Agreement and coordinating the activities of other stewards, to ensure the efficient use of release time. Whenever possible, the Union will notify the appropriate agency personnel director in writing of the names of the designated stewards prior to them assuming any duties. The Employer shall not deny a State employee the right to represent another employee simply because his/her name does not appear on a stewards list. Designated stewards shall be allowed a reasonable amount of duty time without charge to pay or leave to administer the Agreement and otherwise represent employees in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Law (Title 3, State Personnel and Pensions Article), law or regulation. To the extent necessary to participate in hearings and meetings, a designated xxxxxxx'x shift shall be adjusted so that such participation shall be on official duty time.
