Stewards. 6.01 The Business Agent or Business Manager may appoint Job/Shop Stewards. The Xxxxxxx of the Union will be an employee of the Employer who is a qualified journeyman and who will perform the work of a journeyman at the journeyman's rate of pay. In addition to his duties as a journeyman he shall be permitted reasonable time to perform such of his Union duties as cannot be performed off the job. A xxxxxxx may be transferred or discharged for cause, but such cause shall be discussed with the Xxxxxxx to leave his work he must first obtain permission from business representative of the Union before transferring or discharging said xxxxxxx. 7.5. The xxxxxxx shall not stop the Employer's work for any reason, and shall not leave the project during normal working hours unless no telephone is available on the job site, or unless authorized to do so by the Employer. The xxxxxxx shall not call the business representative concerning unsafe conditions or other matters relating to the administration of the contract, unless and until they have first discussed the problems concerned with management's representative on the job whenever possible. Such permission would not be unreasonably withheld.
