Stockpile Management. The Contractor shall minimize stockpiling of materials at the job site. a) Covered with soil stabilization material or a temporary cover b) Surrounded with a linear sediment barrier Stockpiles of asphalt concrete and PCC rubble, HMA, aggregate base, or aggregate sub base must be: a) Covered with a temporary cover b) Surrounded with a linear sediment barrier Stockpiles of pressure-treated wood must be: a) Placed on pallets b) Covered with impermeable material Stockpiles of cold mix asphalt concrete must be: a) Placed on an impervious surface b) Covered with an impermeable material c) Protected from stormwater run-on and runoff The Contractor shall control wind erosion year round. The Contractor shall repair or replace linear sediment barriers and covers as needed to keep them functioning properly. Whenever sediment accumulates to 1/3 of the linear sediment barrier height, remove the accumulated sediment.
Stockpile Management. Stockpiles of potentially contaminated material must be constructed and maintained to prevent erosion, contact with stormwater runoff, dust generation, and worker contact. The water content of material to be stockpiled must be minimized to the extent practical prior to stockpiling to minimize drainage of free liquids from the stockpile. Each stockpile must be underlain by a low-permeability liner with a minimum thickness of 10 millimeters (mil), and adjacent sheets of liner must be continuously overlapped by a minimum of 3 feet. The ground surface on which the liner will be placed must be free of any objects that could damage the liner. Alternatively, a layer of geotextile or plywood may be placed beneath the liner to protect it in locations containing rocks or debris on the ground surface, or in areas through which vehicular traffic will travel. A berm must be constructed around each stockpile or stockpile area. The berm must contain sufficient area and volume to allow for ponding and control of liquids within it. Stockpiles must be covered when not in use. Stockpile covers must have a minimum thickness of 10 mils, and must be anchored as needed (e.g., sandbags) to prevent being removed by wind or other disturbance. Tears or discontinuities in the stockpile cover must be fixed immediately. Stockpiles must be inspected at least once per week to ensure they remain properly covered. Water or other liquids accumulating within the stockpile area must be collected and disposed of in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and permits (see Section 3.3).

  • SITE MANAGEMENT We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to: (1) monitor the Site for violations of these Terms of Use; (2) take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates the law or these Terms of Use, including without limitation, reporting such user to law enforcement authorities; (3) in our sole discretion and without limitation, refuse, restrict access to, limit the availability of, or disable (to the extent technologically feasible) any of your Contributions or any portion thereof; (4) in our sole discretion and without limitation, notice, or liability, to remove from the Site or otherwise disable all files and content that are excessive in size or are in any way burdensome to our systems; and (5) otherwise manage the Site in a manner designed to protect our rights and property and to facilitate the proper functioning of the Site.

  • Dewatering (a) Where the whole of a site is so affected by surface water following a period of rain that all productive work is suspended by agreement of the Parties, then dewatering shall proceed as above with Employees so engaged being paid at penalty rates as is the case for safety rectification work. This work is typically performed by Employees engaged within CW1, CW2 or CW3 classifications. When other Employees are undertaking productive work in an area or areas not so affected then dewatering will only attract single time rates. (b) Where a part of a site is affected by surface water following a period of rain, thus rendering some areas unsafe for productive work, consistent with the Employer’s obligations under the OH&S Act, appropriate Employees shall assist in the tidying up of their own work site or area if it is so affected. Where required, appropriate Employees will be provided with the appropriate PPE. Such work to be paid at single time rates. Productive work will continue in areas not so affected. (c) To avoid any confusion any ‘dewatering’ time which prevents an Employee from being engaged in their normal productive work is not included in any calculation for the purposes of determining whether an Employee is entitled to go home due to wet weather (refer clauses 32.4 and 32.5)

  • Waste Management o Participate in recycling using the Harvard Recycles receptacles provided. Recyclable materials include paper, cardboard, glass bottles, cans, plastics 1-7, as well as fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, chemicals, cartridges and electronics. o Designate a space for employees to leave surplus or shared office supplies to reduce redundant purchases. o Arrange for surplus furniture and other large office items to be delivered to Harvard’s Recycling and Surplus Center for reuse. Occupant Education and Engagement o Install or enable software that powers down computers when not in use, and ensure that all computer monitors have a “sleep mode” enabled. o Ensure that every employee has a power strip and turns the strip with an “off” switch for electronic devices. o Encourage staff to use task lighting that accommodates fluorescent bulbs, rather than halogen lamps. o Provide mugs or encourage staff to bring their own reusable mugs, plates, and utensils for the kitchen area. Keep the kitchen area stocked with dish cleaning supplies if a dishwasher is not available. o Start a physical or electronic bulletin board for “green tips”, news, and ideas. o Ask the Property Manager for training to properly operate controls, including shades, lights, thermostats, etc. o Advise employees to dress appropriately for the weather as building temperatures will be set at the lowest or highest end of the ASHRAE standard range depending on the outside temperature.

  • Virus Management DST shall maintain a malware protection program designed to deter malware infections, detect the presence of malware within DST environment.

  • Traffic Management 9.2.1 During the Operating Period, Developer shall be responsible for the general management of traffic on the Project. Developer shall manage traffic so as to preserve and protect safety of traffic on the Project and Related Transportation Facilities and, to the maximum extent practicable, to avoid disruption, interruption or other adverse effects on traffic flow, throughput or level of service on the Project and Related Transportation Facilities. Developer shall conduct traffic management in accordance with all applicable Technical Provisions, Technical Documents, Laws and Governmental Approvals, and in accordance with the Traffic Management Plan. 9.2.2 Developer shall prepare and submit to TxDOT and the Independent Engineer for TxDOT approval a Traffic Management Plan for managing traffic on the Project and Related Transportation Facilities after the commencement of traffic operations on any portion of the Project, addressing (a) orderly and safe movement and diversion of traffic on Related Transportation Facilities during Project construction, (b) orderly and safe movement of traffic on the Project and (c) orderly and safe diversion of traffic on the Project and Related Transportation Facilities necessary in connection with field maintenance and repair work or Renewal Work or in response to Incidents, Emergencies and lane closures. Developer shall prepare the Traffic Management Plan according to the schedule set forth in the Technical Provisions. The Traffic Management Plan shall comply with the Technical Provisions and Technical Documents concerning traffic management and traffic operations. Developer shall carry out all traffic management during the Term in accordance with the approved Traffic Management Plan. 9.2.3 Developer shall implement the Traffic Management Plan to promote safe and efficient operation of the Project and Related Transportation Facilities at all times during the course of any construction or operation of the Project and during the Utility Adjustment Work. 9.2.4 TxDOT shall have at all times, without obligation or liability to Developer, the right 9.2.4.1 Issue Directive Letters to Developer regarding traffic management 9.2.4.2 Provide on the Project, via message signs or other means consistent with Good Industry Practice, non-Discriminatory traveler and driver information, and other public information (e.g. amber alerts), provided that the means to disseminate such information does not materially interfere with the functioning of the ETCS.

  • Transportation Management Tenant shall fully comply with all present or future programs intended to manage parking, transportation or traffic in and around the Building, and in connection therewith, Tenant shall take responsible action for the transportation planning and management of all employees located at the Premises by working directly with Landlord, any governmental transportation management organization or any other transportation-related committees or entities.

  • Case Management Prompt resolution of any dispute is important to both parties; and the parties agree that the arbitration of any dispute shall be conducted expeditiously. The arbitrators are instructed and directed to assume case management initiative and control over the arbitration process (including scheduling of events, pre-hearing discovery and activities, and the conduct of the hearing), in order to complete the arbitration as expeditiously as is reasonably practical for obtaining a just resolution of the dispute.
