Common use of STRIKE AND LOCKOUT Clause in Contracts

STRIKE AND LOCKOUT. The Company and the Union agree to abide by all the procedures provided by this Agreement and the Canada Labour Code, for the purpose of peaceful settlements of disputes. This Code provides that employees may legally strike and the Company may lock-out following the completion of the bargaining and conciliation process at the termination of an Agreement. However, in view of the orderly procedure established by this Agreement, as required by the Code for settling of disputes, the Union agrees that during the life of this Agreement, there shall be no strike or stoppage of work, either complete or partial and the Company agrees that there shall be no lock-out either complete or partial.
