Supervision of Apprentices. Apprentices shall be under the general direction of the individual charged with coordination of apprenticeship programs and under the immediate direction of the supervisor of the department to which they are assigned. The Coordinator of Apprenticeship Programs is authorized to move apprentices from one department to another in accordance with the predetermined schedule of work training or skill sets outlined. No apprentice may be retained unreasonably on a scheduled work process or skill set once the employee has demonstrated proficiency in that particular skill. When an apprentice feels that is being retained unreasonably, will review their concern with their supervisor, and if not resolved, will have the issue reviewed with the Joint Apprenticeship m Adequate record forms shall be prepared and will be filled in by the supervisor under whom the apprentices receive direct instruction and experience. Supervisors shall make a report at least every thirty (30) days to the Coordinator of Apprenticeship Programs on the work and progress of the apprentices under their supervision. Apprentices shall procure the hand tools needed and as required and specified by the Company. Such tools may be purchased through the Company under a payroll deduction authorization. A record will be kept by the Company of time spent on the various work processes. An apprentice may be required to work work. Overtime worked by an apprentice shall not reduce the period of apprenticeship unless it work which is covered by the “Schedule of Work Processes” or “Skill Sets” for apprentices, as the case may be.

The Committee will then recommend the it deems necessary, including continuation of status, repeating of a specified process or series of processes or termination of the apprenticeship. If terminated, the Registration Agencies shall be advised along with the reason therefor. The Committee may request interested agencies or organizations to designate a representative to serve as a consultant. Consultants will be to participate without a vote in conference on special problems related to apprenticeship training which affect the agencies they represent. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the apprentice will be given seniority equal to the time spent on course, as journeyman.
