Common use of Telephone Consultation Clause in Contracts

Telephone Consultation. When an Employee is consulted by telephone and has been: (a) assigned to on-call duty and authorized by the Employer to handle job- related matters without returning to the work place; or (b) authorized by the Employer to handle job-related matters without returning to the work place; the Employee shall be paid at the applicable rate for the total accumulated time spent on telephone consultation(s) and corresponding documentation during the on-call period. If the time of the consultation is less than thirty (30) minutes, the Employee shall be compensated at the applicable rate of pay for thirty (30) minutes per incident of consultation. Any calls within a single one (1) hour period will be considered one incident.
