Common use of Telephone Consultation Clause in Contracts

Telephone Consultation. When an Employee is consulted by telephone and has been: (a) assigned on-call duty and is authorized by the Employer to handle job- related matters without returning to the workplace; or (b) not assigned on-call duty but is pre-authorized by the Employer to handle job-related matters without returning to the workplace; the Employee shall be paid at the applicable rate for the total accumulated time spent on telephone consultation(s) and corresponding documentation during the on-call period. If the total accumulated time is less than thirty (30) minutes, the Employee shall be compensated at the applicable rate of pay for thirty (30) minutes.
