Temporary Layoffs. In the event of a reduction in the 'Workforce' for a definite and limited period of time not to exceed twenty-eight (28) calendar days, the Board may temporarily lay off Employees and re-allocate the remaining work without regard to Seniority provided the following principles are applied: (a) Employees who are not Laid-off shall retain their current rate of pay during the period of temporary Layoff.
