TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. A. Members shall be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year. Such days of temporary leave must be taken as either one-half (1/2) or one (1) full working day. No personal leaves of absence shall be taken immediately prior to or immediately after holidays or vacations. Any exceptions must be requested in writing to the Superintendent or his designee and must have written approval. 1. Members are entitled to three (3) days personal leave annually subject to advance notice and approval secured from the Superintendent or designee. Personal leave means an activity that requires the member’s presence during the working day and is of such a nature that it cannot be attended to at a time when schools are not in session. Unused personal days shall be transferred to accumulated sick leave time on July 1st each year of this Agreement and all succeeding Agreements. 2. Up to five (5) working days at any one time shall be granted to members in the event of death of a member’s spouse, child, son-in- law, daughter-in-law, parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, or any person with whom the member has made his/her home, and any other member of the immediate household. 3. In the case of the death of a near relative, defined as first cousin, uncle, aunt, niece or nephew, there shall be no deduction from personal leave entitlement of up to three (3) days, subject to advance notice to and approval of the Superintendent. 4. A member shall also be granted a reasonable amount of bereavement time with full pay for the purpose of travel in cases where the funeral is out of state. Such time off is subject to the approval of the Assistant Superintendent to whom the member is reportable. 5. Any other leave of absence granted by the Board may be without pay. 6. No leave of absence with pay shall be granted due to the requirements of a second job. 7. Professional leave for such purposes as attending meetings, seminars and visiting other schools may be granted. 8. If a member is subpoenaed by a court of law to appear on behalf of the Board, such member shall do so without loss of pay.

TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. A. Secretaries shall be entitled to the following temporary, non-accumulative leaves of absence with full pay each school year. 1. Up to three (3) days leave of absence for personal business only where the absence during school hours cannot be avoided without substantial hardship. Personal business shall be limited to legal, business, household or family matters. Application for personal business shall be made to the principal or immediate supervisor at least five (5) days in advance, except in cases of emergency. The secretary shall state the reason for the absence on the appropriate form. The statement of reasons shall be limited to the words “legal, business, household or family matters.” All requests for personal business shall be subject to review and final approval by the Superintendent or designee. Failure to comply with the procedures set forth in this article may result in the denial of the leave or loss of compensation, if the day(s) have been taken. 2. Up to two (2) days for the purpose of visiting other schools or attending meetings or conferences of an educational nature upon the recommendation of the supervisor and with the approval of the Superintendent of Schools. 3. Time necessary for appearances in any legal proceeding connected with the secretary’s employment or with the school system. 4. Up to six (6) days in any one school year for twelve (12) month secretaries, and up to four (4) days in any one school year for ten and one-half (10 1/2) month secretaries, in the event of death or serious illness in the family. 5. A secretary may apply for additional time for either death or serious illness in the family in the event of extenuating circumstances. Such application shall be made, in writing, to the Superintendent for approval. Said approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. 6. In the event of the death of a secretary, student or other employee of the school district, the Superintendent shall grant to an appropriate number of secretaries sufficient time off to attend the funeral. B. Other leaves of absences with pay may be granted by the Board at its discretion.
TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. A. Supervisors shall be granted five (5) days leave for a death in the immediate family. Immediate family shall consist of husband or wife, mother, father, brother, sister, child or any person standing in loco parentis. Such leave shall not be deducted from sick leave. Supervisors shall be granted up to two (2) days for bereavement purposes in the event of the death of an in-law or a grandchild. B. Absence of a Supervisor due to an injury which is compensable under the New Jersey Xxxxxxx'x Compensation Act shall not be considered as part of sick leave. C. A Supervisor absent on jury duty shall not be required to deduct such absence from sick leave. Such Supervisor shall be reimbursed the difference between his/her prevailing rate of pay and amounts received for jury duty service. D. A Supervisor required to attend a court of law in connection with a matter not involving moral turpitude on the part of the Supervisor shall be reimbursed full pay. Reimbursement shall also be made with respect to any such matter involving moral turpitude on the part of the Supervisor, if the Supervisor is finally acquitted of the charge. An absence for such reason shall not be considered a part of sick leave. The employee must present to the Superintendent official court documentation of attendance. Attendance in court shall be limited to the actual days of attendance. E. Each Supervisor shall be eligible for four (4) personal days in each school year in the following manner. 1. Two (2) personal days shall be granted by the Principal with pay after twenty-four hours notice for any of the following stated reasons: a. Personal problems b. Legal matters c. Death of an immediate or distant member of the family d. Accident e. Settlement of the permanent residence or one (1) second or vacation home f. Religious observance g. Educational matters. 2. The remaining two (2) days under E. 1. will be granted with pay at the discretion of the Principal, for absence for personal business, such as settlement of a house, death of an immediate or distant member of the family or friend or accident.

No leaves shall be taken immediately prior to or immediately after holidays and vacations. Only one of the three personal leave days may be taken immediately prior to or immediately after a holiday or vacation. Any exceptions must be requested in writing to the Superintendent or his designee and must have written approval. 1. Employees are entitled to three (3) days personal, non-accumulative leave, subject to advance notice. Such leave will be granted without reasons being given.
TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. A. At the beginning of the school year, administrators shall be entitled to the following temporary leaves of absence with full pay each school year: combined leave shall not exceed a maximum of five (5) days, other than in an emergency requests shall reach the Superintendent’s office at least seven days in advance of the day(s) requested. Any unused days shall roll over to the sick leave bank pursuant to Article 8. 1. Absence because of serious illness in the immediate family or attendance at court because of a subpoena, absence to be present at marriage of members of immediate family. IMMEDIATE FAMILY defined as Father, Mother, Husband, Wife, Child, Sister, Brother, Mother-in-Law, Father-in-Law, Son-in-Law, Daughter-in Law, Grandmother and Grandfather and any member of the family unit living in the same household, no matter what degree of relationship. 2. Whenever an administrator is absent to visit other schools or administrators for professional observation, attending a school meeting, conference or convention, full salary shall be paid provided the absence is approved by the Superintendent, who will submit approval along with request for payment of a substitute to Board Secretary. 3. Absence with pay may be allowed by the Superintendent for transactions involving a legal instrument (deed, mortgage, property title, etc.), or a court order. This absence shall be charged against the days as set forth above. The Superintendent's advance approval will be required. 4. Absence with pay may be allowed by the Superintendent for personal business. Such absence shall be charged against the days as set forth above. The Superintendent's advance approval will be required. 5. Employees will be permitted three (3) days to observe religious holidays without loss of salary. This absence shall be charged against the days as set forth above. 6. Other leaves of absence with or without pay may be granted by the Board for good reason.
TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. (1) Each teacher shall be entitled to three (3) days of personal business leave per year without loss of salary exclusive of sick leave. Only three teachers may be absent from a school at any one time for this reason. More than three could be absent when, if in the judgment of the principal, the conditions warrant it. The teacher requesting use of personal leave will not be required to state the reason for such leave. (2) Requests for personal business leave shall not be granted immediately before or immediately after a holiday, or on an in-service day for teachers, or during the first five (5) days of the student calendar or the last five (5) days of the student calendar. On the day preceding or following a holiday or Superintendent approved leave the request must be made in writing to the Superintendent of Schools. The Association and the Board agree that personal business leave will not be granted for recreation, vacation or shopping. The decision of the Superintendent will be final. (3) Unused personal business leave days will be converted to cumulative sick leave at the end of each school year. (4) Teachers will be permitted to use one (1) of their personal days to attend the post-secondary graduation for their child, stepchild, or spouse immediately before or immediately after a holiday, or on an in-service day for teachers. b. Each teacher shall be granted up to five (5) working days at any one time, without salary deduction, in the event of the death of his/her spouse, mother, father, child, xxxxxx child, brother, sister, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, xxxxxx parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and members of the immediate household. It is intended that such leave be used at the actual time of the burial arrangements and funeral of the deceased and for related reasons. Emergencies and unusual circumstances will be considered on an individual basis by the Superintendent. c. Each teacher shall be granted up to three (3) working days at any one time, without salary deduction, in the event of the death of a grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, brother-in-law or sister-in-law. It is intended that such leave be used at the actual time of the burial arrangements and funeral of the deceased and for related reasons. Emergencies and unusual circumstances will be considered on an individual basis by the Superintendent. d. Each teacher shall be granted one (1) working day without salary deduction in the event of the death of an aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew. ...
TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Leaves of absence may be granted as follows: 11-1 Military Leave: Pursuant to applicable federal and Nevada statutes, teachers who must serve under orders in military programs shall not lose salary from the School District for participating in such programs for up to fifteen (15) school days per school year.

TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. A. A teacher will be entitled to three (3) days personal leave in each school year for personal business that cannot be accomplished during non-school hours. THE REASON GIVEN FOR THE REQUESTED PERSONAL DAY MUST BE SPECIFIED BY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: • PERSONAL • FINANCIAL • LEGAL • MEDICAL • FAMILY • PROFESSIONAL • EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES No personal day may be taken on the day before or after a vacation or holiday, or the conference days before the opening of school or on the days teachers are required to be present to finish the year’s work, unless the scheduling of the particular matter on such date is beyond the teacher’s control. There shall be no accumulation of personal leave. Absent emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, written application for personal leave, on a form provided by the Superintendent, shall be made to the Superintendent at least five (5) work days before taking such leave. Leave reasons are subject to review if warranted. B. A teacher shall be entitled to two (2) days’ leave in each school year for the observance of those religious holidays which require absence from work. Teachers must obtain prior approval from the Superintendent. Failure to obtain prior approval of the Superintendent will be considered an unauthorized absence in accordance with Article XXIV, Section 1. Such days shall not be deducted from personal leave. C. If a teacher is required to appear in a court of law in a case arising out of his/her employment in the Cohasset School System, he/she shall suffer no loss of pay and such absence shall not be deducted from his/her excused absences provided that he/she is not found guilty in such court proceeding of a crime involving moral turpitude or negligence in the performance of assigned duties. Commencing with grievances filed under this Agreement, the above shall not apply to arbitration proceedings and other cases where either the Association or teachers have initiated an action against the School Committee or its representatives. In such cases, the substitute's pay shall be deducted from the teacher's pay. D. A teacher will be granted time off without loss of pay for up to five (5) consecutive work days from the date of death in cases of death of the teacher’s spouse, child, sibling, parents, grandparents, mother and father-law or brother and sister-in-law or a person who is a member of the teacher's immediate household and in substance occupies a similar relationship to the teacher. TEMPORARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE. 1. A leave of absence without pay for up to one (1) calendar year will be granted to a teacher for the purpose of caring for a sick member of the teacher's immediate family. Additional leave may be granted at the discretion of the Board. 2. After three (3) years of continuous employment in the Rolling Hills School District, a teacher may be granted a leave of absence, without pay, for up to one (1) calendar year for health reasons. Requests for such leave will be supported by appropriate medical evidence.

Absence for personal reasons as set forth in the following categories 1, 2 and 3, shall be requested in writing at least one (1) working day in advance to the Principal, except in cases of emergency. Absences for personal reasons as set forth in the following categories 4, 5, 6 and 7, shall be requested in writing at least one (1) week (7 days) in advance to the Principal. Such requests must state the reasons the personal leave will be used for. Two (2) personal leave days requested under category 8 shall be approved without the necessity of being submitted in writing or being submitted at least one week (7 days) in advance. An employee may be allowed one (1) personal day per category, with a maximum of three (3) days each school year, unless otherwise provided in this Agreement, subject to the approval of the Superintendent. Personal leave will not be granted before or after a holiday or school vacation unless the leave is for religious observance or an emergency. Personal days may not be continuous in nature when requested. No more that 5% of the staff may receive the same day off for personal leave except in cases of emergency. No deductions shall be made from teachers’ salaries when requests are granted for absences for personal reasons as set forth in the following categories:
