Tenure Step Progression for Short-Hour and Per Diem Employees. Short-Hour employees and Per Diem employees shall be eligible for progression to the next tenure step upon the accumulation of one thousand (1,000) hours of work. However, no employee shall advance more than one (1) tenure step during the twelve (12) month period beginning with the date of employment or the date of the employee’s most recent tenure advancement. Also, the accumulation of each one thousand (1,000) hours must be accomplished in no more than three (3) years from the date of assignment to the employee’s current tenure step. If an employee does not work at least one thousand (1,000) hours in such three (3) year period, the employee will remain in the same tenure step and must commence a new accumulation of the one thousand (1,000) hours toward tenure advancement.

Tenure Step Progression for Short-Hour and Per Diem Employees. Short-hour or Per Diem employees shall be eligible for progression to the next tenure step upon accumulation of one thousand (1,000) hours of work, provided: 1) no short-hour or Per Diem employee shall advance more than one (1) tenure step during the twelve (12) month period commencing with date of employment or date of employee's most recent tenure advancement; 2) the accumulation is accomplished in no more than three (3) consecutive years; and 3) a more beneficial practice in effect at the Hospital shall be maintained for current employees.

  • Per Diem Employees Section 1. A per diem employee is one that works on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the provisions of this article. Per diem employees will not be guaranteed to work a specific number of hours or a specific number of shifts per time block.

  • CONDITIONS FOR EMERGENCY/HURRICANE OR DISASTER - TERM CONTRACTS It is hereby made a part of this Invitation for Bids that before, during and after a public emergency, disaster, hurricane, flood, or other acts of God that Orange County shall require a “first priority” basis for goods and services. If the Employee has a recurrence of the same illness or injury, s/he is required to apply to reopen the previous LTD or WSIB claim, as applicable. The Local union and Local school board agree to continue to cooperate in the implementation and administration of early intervention and safe return to work processes as a component of the Short-Term Leave and Long-Term Disability Plans. In the event the Employee exhausts his/her sick/short-term disability leave allocation from the previous year and continues to work part-time, their salary will be reduced accordingly and a pro-rated sick/short-term allocation for the employee’s working portion of the current year will be provided. The new pro-rated sick/short-term leave allocation may not be used to top-up from part-time to full-time hours. Any changes to hours of work during a fiscal year shall result in an adjustment to the allocation.

  • Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.

  • Bargaining Unit Layoff List/Same Classification If a Bargaining Unit Layoff List/Same Classification is to be used, selection shall be made from among qualified employees whose names appear on the list; or

  • Educator Plans: Directed Growth Plan A) A Directed Growth Plan is for those Educators with PTS whose overall rating is needs improvement.

  • Pension Contributions While on Short Term Disability Contributions for OMERS Plan Members When an employee/plan member is on short-term sick leave and receiving less than 100% of regular salary, the Board will continue to deduct and remit OMERS contributions based on 100% of the employee/plan member’s regular pay.

  • Employee Grievance Procedure 91. An employee having a grievance may first discuss it with the employee's immediate supervisor, or the next level in management, to try to work out a satisfactory solution in an informal manner. The employee may have a representative(s) at this discussion.

  • Formal Grievance - Step 2 A. If the grievant is not satisfied with the decision rendered pursuant to Step 1, the grievant may appeal the decision within twenty-one (21) calendar days after receipt to a designated supervisor or manager identified by each department head as the second level of appeal. If the department head or designee is the first level of appeal, the grievant may bypass Step 2.
