Common use of Time Limit for Filing Clause in Contracts

Time Limit for Filing. No grievance shall be entertained or processed unless it is submitted at Step 1 within seven (7) business days after the occurrence of the event giving rise to the grievance or within seven (7) business days after the employee or the Union, through the use of reasonable diligence, could have obtained knowledge of the occurrence of the event giving rise to the grievance. A "business day" is defined to include Mondays through Fridays only, excluding legal holidays.
