Transitional Stipend for Professional Learning. The Port Xxxxxxxx School District endeavors to maintain and xxxxxx a comprehensive, sustained, job-embedded and collaborative program of professional learning to improve employees’ effectiveness in raising student achievement, consistent with the guidelines and definitions contained in RCW 28A.415.430-.434. On this basis, and in compliance with the transitional requirements for compensation increases provided for in RCW 41.59.800, for the 2018-19 school year the District will provide a Professional Learning Stipend (PLS) in recognition of each employee’s commitment to and meaningful participation in the District’s program of professional learning under RCW 28A.415.430. The PLS shall be paid in amounts shown on the attached Appendix 1 on the basis of the employee’s placement on the regular salary schedule. For the 2019-20 school year, the PLS shall be added to each employee’s base contract amount, as part of the negotiated base contract salary schedule for 2019-20. Payment for this professional stipend shall be made in twelve (12) equal monthly installments. Part-time employees will be compensated in the same ratio that their service bears to full time service.
