TIME, RESPONSIBILITY AND INCENTIVE. The SPS and SEA believe: 1. The success of the SPS is dependent upon hiring and retaining the highest quality employees. 2. The employees of the SPS should be treated as professionals and trusted to use their professional judgment to accomplish the responsibilities expected by their profession, the SPS and the SEA. 3. Successfully providing all students with a quality education requires staff to recognize that students have prior experiences that frame their worldview and to create and provide a culturally responsive learning environment that acknowledges that all students: a. Are life-long learners b. Can academically achieve at high levels when they are appropriately taught and encouraged; when resources are available that support high expectations for learning; and, when there is strong family and community support c. Are entitled to learn in multicultural context 4. Providing a quality education for all students requires from employees a commitment to the profession beyond the basic contract, normal workday hours and school year: a. The additional commitment required of employees cannot be accurately measured in hours or days; nonetheless, the parties are clear that employees are not being asked to work “24-7” ; b. In meeting their individual responsibilities, the time necessary to fulfill those responsibilities may vary between one employee and another employee; c. State law allows additional compensation for additional time, additional responsibilities or incentives (TRI). Therefore, as incentive for the additional services required of all employees outside of the basic contract, each employee will be issued a supplemental contract in recognition of these additional responsibilities, services and time. Compensation for these duties shall be in accordance with the TRI Salary Schedule Appendix B and payment will be made in equal monthly installments as part of the regular paycheck. A part-time or late-hire employee will receive a pro rata share of this TRI supplemental contract, except as modified by mandatory days, based on the employee's full-time equivalency (FTE). 5. The self-directed portion of the supplemental responsibility contract (TRI) recognizes that employees will provide a professionally responsible and reasonable level of service in the following areas that are above the basic contract: a. The District and the Association agree and affirm the following: a. the success of the Port Xxxxxxxx School District is dependent upon hiring and retaining the highest quality teachers; b. providing a quality education for students requires from teachers a commitment to the profession beyond the base contract, normal workday hours and school year; c. State law allows additional compensation for additional time, additional responsibilities or incentives (TRI) in conformance with RCW28A.400.200(4); d. the additional commitment required of Port Xxxxxxxx’x teachers cannot be accurately measured in hours or days; and e. the time necessary to fulfill any one teacher’s responsibilities will vary from that of another teacher as determined by the individual’s own professional judgment. The teacher-directed TRI days previously provided for in the 2016-18 collective bargaining agreement between the parties have been rolled into each employee’s base contract salary. The professional responsibilities work formerly associated with this pay are now likewise considered rolled into the base contract expectations (professional pay for professional work) as part of the state’s statutory program of basic education. 2. For the 2018-19 school year, a total of six (6) District/Administration-directed TRI days will be available on a supplemental enrichment contract for district/administration-directed activities. Beginning with the 2019-20 school year, two (2) of these six (6) District/Administration-directed days will be rolled into the base contract salary and the base contract work year (182 days) as state-funded, District-directed professional learning days, leaving four

The additional commitment required of San Xxxx Island certificated staff cannot be accurately measured in hours or days. The salary provided beyond the basic education apportionment is provided to compensate Association members for the responsibilities listed below that occur outside of mandated contract time. The amount of time outside of the contracted workday and work year necessary to fulfill these responsibilities will vary from one staff member to another, as determined by the individual’s own professional judgment and personal choice. a. Working with technology related to educational practices The professional responsibility stipend previously provided for in the 2017-18 collective bargaining agreement between the parties has been rolled into each employee’s base contract salary. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the District and the Association recognize the need for professional educators to continue their professional development, for the District and the building and/or department to meet together to plan, to have in-service training, and to have staff engage fully with the District’s program of professional learning maintained pursuant to the guidelines and definitions contained in RCW 28A.415.430-.434. For these reasons, the District will provide each employee a supplemental contract in recognition of the additional services and responsibilities required of all certificated staff members under the District’s program of professional learning. For the 18-20 school years, the supplemental contract shall be equal to 2.2% of each employee’s base contract amount, as shown on the TRI schedule attached hereto as Appendix 7B. TIME, RESPONSIBILITY AND INCENTIVE. (TRI) Days 10.5.1 Activities allowable for self•directed TRI days shall be as detailed in Appendix H. 10.5.2 Allowable activities for site•directed TRI days shall include, but not be limited to, those activities allowed for self•directed days. Site days shall be used for curriculum and staff development. Site activities and days on which they occur shall be determined at each site with staff involvement. 10.5.3 Compensation for TRI days will be added to an employee's monthly paycheck for the earliest feasible pay period following the submission of proper documentation of time worked to the District Office. (See Appendix H.) 10.5.4 The parties agree that part-time employees shall receive a prorated amount based on their FTE.

Verification: Fulfillment of the above supplemental contract shall be verified by completion of the form(s) shown as Appendix 7. Said form is to be completed by the employee and turned in to their immediate supervisor no later than June 30. Employees who do not verify completion of the District/Building/Principal Directed hours shall have their compensation for these days reduced on a proportionate basis for each day (7.0 hours/day) not verified as worked. Employees on any unpaid leave of absence for these days shall have their pay reduced on a proportionate basis (their regular pay shall not be affected). Any overpayment shall be withheld from the August paycheck.

  • Employee Responsibility Each employee is responsible for the care and maintenance of such equipment. The Company retains the right to inspect the equipment at any time and to require the employee to provide an accounting of any loss or abuse.

  • Committee Responsibilities Subject to the provisions of the Plan, the Committee shall have full authority and discretion to take the following actions: (i) To interpret the Plan and to apply its provisions; (ii) To adopt, amend or rescind rules, procedures and forms relating to the Plan; (iii) To adopt, amend or terminate sub-plans established for the purpose of satisfying applicable foreign laws including qualifying for preferred tax treatment under applicable foreign tax laws; (iv) To authorize any person to execute, on behalf of the Company, any instrument required to carry out the purposes of the Plan; (v) To determine when Awards are to be granted under the Plan; (vi) To select the Participants to whom Awards are to be granted; (vii) To determine the type of Award and number of Shares or amount of cash to be made subject to each Award; (viii) To prescribe the terms and conditions of each Award, including (without limitation) the Exercise Price and Purchase Price, and the vesting or duration of the Award (including accelerating the vesting of Awards, either at the time of the Award or thereafter, without the consent of the Participant), to determine whether an Option is to be classified as an ISO or as a Nonstatutory Option, and to specify the provisions of the agreement relating to such Award; (ix) To amend any outstanding Award Agreement, subject to applicable legal restrictions and to the consent of the Participant if the Participant’s rights or obligations would be materially impaired; (x) To prescribe the consideration for the grant of each Award or other right under the Plan and to determine the sufficiency of such consideration; (xi) To determine the disposition of each Award or other right under the Plan in the event of a Participant’s divorce or dissolution of marriage; (xii) To determine whether Awards under the Plan will be granted in replacement of other grants under an incentive or other compensation plan of an acquired business; (xiii) To correct any defect, supply any omission, or reconcile any inconsistency in the Plan or any Award Agreement; (xiv) To establish or verify the extent of satisfaction of any performance goals or other conditions applicable to the grant, issuance, exercisability, vesting and/or ability to retain any Award; and (xv) To take any other actions deemed necessary or advisable for the administration of the Plan. Subject to the requirements of applicable law, the Committee may designate persons other than members of the Committee to carry out its responsibilities and may prescribe such conditions and limitations as it may deem appropriate, except that the Committee may not delegate its authority with regard to the selection for participation of or the granting of Awards under the Plan to persons subject to Section 16 of the Exchange Act. All decisions, interpretations and other actions of the Committee shall be final and binding on all Participants and all persons deriving their rights from a Participant. No member of the Committee shall be liable for any action that he has taken or has failed to take in good faith with respect to the Plan or any Award under the Plan.
