Common use of Travelling to and from Outside Assignments Clause in Contracts

Travelling to and from Outside Assignments. When an employee is required and authorized to drive the employee's personal car, the mileage provisions outlined in the Company-Wide Travel Procedure (CW-512200-PRO- 120, Rev 3 dated 2010 March 10) will apply. When an employee is travelling from CRL to an outside assignment or returning from such an assignment, the employee shall receive compensation for the actual time spent in travelling on the following basis: (a) On a day that is not the employee's day of rest the employee shall in addition to the employee's normal wages be compensated at the employee's regular rate for any travel time outside the employee's normal hours to a maximum of six (6) hours. (b) On the employee's day(s) of rest the employee shall be compensated at the applicable overtime rate for time worked and at the standard overtime rate for travel time to a combined maximum of eight (8) hours. For any additional time spent in travel, the employee will be compensated at the employee's regular rate to a maximum of six (6) hours. (c) Assignments in the local area (Pembroke to Rolphton and points between) do not constitute travel for the purpose of travel time.
