Tuition Assistance. 23.01 In the interest of encouraging employees to participate in personal and professional development, the University will provide tuition assistance to House Crew employees, who hold a full-time continuing appointment of at least one (1) year duration and have completed their probationary period, who take undergraduate and graduate courses offered at Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx University and Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. (i) Full-time employees are eligible to receive a full waiver of the academic tuition fees in regulated programs. In addition, employees are eligible to receive a one-hundred percent (100%) waiver of the academic tuition fees for non-regulated programs when the program is related to the employee’s career development. The waiver is restricted to three (3) full courses six (6) half courses in each twelve (12) month period, commencing May 1 of each year, included but not restricted to registration fees, examination fees, incidental and ancillary fees. (ii) Part-time employees who work 900-1249 hours per year are eligible to receive a fifty percent (50%) reduction of academic tuition fee as described in 23.01 (i). In addition, employees are eligible to receive a fifty percent (50%) waiver of the academic tuition fees for non-regulated programs when the program is related to the employee’s career development. Part-time employees also have the option of receiving one hundred percent (100%) waiver of academic tuition fees for any undergraduate course offered in the evening for which they register as a part time student. An employee who is retired from the University and is receiving benefits from the Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx University Pension Plan shall be entitled to the above benefits. 23.02 The university will reimburse House Crew employees and stage hands one- hundred percent (100%.) of the applicable tuition fees upon the successful completion of a work-related course at a college or university when the course is not available at Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx University. Employees shall be responsible for all non-tuition fees, including but not restricted to registration fees, examination fees, incidental and ancillary fees. Eligibility will continue for as long as the employee is employed in a full time continuing capacity. If an employee, with a dependent or spouse receiving tuition waiver, terminates employment during the academic term, the employee shall be required to pay the tuition for the period from date of termination to the end of the academic term. 23.07 For purposes of this Article the following definitions shall apply; (a) dependent children means sons or daughters who are under twenty-six (26) years of age and either live at home or is financially supported by the employee; (b) a spouse is either married to an employee, or a person who has been cohabiting with an employee continuously for a period of not less than one (1) year.

(ii) Part22.2.3 Full-time employees Members with a Limited-Term appointment of one (1) year or more, with an anticipated end date that is after the final add date for the applicable academic term in which the appointment ends, and who work 900-1249 hours per year have completed their probationary period, are eligible to receive a fifty one-hundred percent (50100%) reduction waiver of the domestic academic tuition fee as described fees (or equivalent) for undergraduate and graduate courses taken at Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxx University and at the Xxxxxx Xxxxxx University College, with the exception of the MBA Program offered at the Toronto campus, and an executive style graduate degree program.
