Common use of Union Activity Leave Clause in Contracts

Union Activity Leave. If an employee is designated by the Union to attend a convention of the National Union, COPE, the Canadian Labour Congress, or the New Democratic Party, on its behalf, the employer shall not make any deductions from the employee's wages for the period required for such attendance. The employer will not unreasonably withhold approval for the employee who is designated by the union.
