UNION COMMITTEES AND STEWARDS. 7.01 The Employer will recognize a Grievance Committee, which shall consist of the Local President, one Executive Board Member and an Area Xxxxxxx. The Employer shall be advised of the names of the stewards and the members of the Grievance Committee from time to time selected. All members of the Grievance Committee and all stewards shall be regular employees of the Board who have acquired at least one year's seniority. 7.02 The Employer shall instruct all members of its supervisory staff to co-operate with the stewards and union officers in carrying out the terms and requirements of this Agreement. 7.03 The Union shall secure from its officers, stewards and members their co-operation with the Employer and with all persons representing the Employer in any supervisory capacity. 7.04 The privilege of stewards and members of the Grievance Committee to leave their work without loss of basic pay to attend to Union business is granted on the following conditions: (a) Stewards and Grievance Committee members are only permitted to leave their work for Union business at meetings with management, or as otherwise approved by management. (b) The time shall be devoted to the prompt handling of necessary Union business. (c) The stewards and members of the Grievance Committee concerned shall obtain prior approval of their supervisor outside the bargaining unit before leaving their work. The xxxxxxx or Grievance Committee member shall advise their supervisor of the time and location of the meeting and state the name of the management person who will be in attendance. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. (d) The xxxxxxx or Grievance Committee member shall contact their supervisor when they return to the work site so that a proper record of their union business may be kept. (a) It is agreed that a Bargaining Committee composed of not more than five (5) employees shall be paid at their regular rate for the time necessarily lost from work for the purpose of attending negotiating meetings with the Employer. (b) The Bargaining Committee shall be granted one (1) day leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority for the purpose of preparing its proposals for negotiations. 7.07 A Labour/Management Committee shall be established with equal representation from the Employer and the Union with at least two (2) from each side present at meetings and as many more as may be mutually agreed. Its purpose is to discuss matters not covered by this Agreement with the view to promoting better Labour/Management relations. Meetings of the Committee shall be held upon reasonable notice at the request of either party, but not more than once per month, except by mutual consent, which will not be unreasonably withheld. 7.08 Should the Board request the Union to participate in a joint committee, such duly appointed members to that committee shall be paid, notwithstanding Article 21.03, their regular straight time rate of pay when required to attend such meetings.

UNION COMMITTEES AND STEWARDS. 7.01 (a) The Employer Company will recognize a Grievance CommitteeUnion Xxxxxxx Body hereinafter called “Xxxxxxx Body”. The Xxxxxxx Body will be comprised of Stewards as designated, which one of whom shall consist be the Chief and two of whom shall be the Executive Board. For grievance conferences in step three the company will recognize a Union Committee that shall not exceed three (3) including the Chief Xxxxxxx. In addition to the above committees, the President of the Local President, one Executive Board Member and/or a representative of the National Union may attend such conferences and an Area Xxxxxxxnegotiations when so desired by the Union. The Employer shall be advised of the names of the stewards and the Company will compensate up to three (3) members of the Grievance Union Contract Negotiating Committee from time to time selected. All members of the Grievance Committee and all stewards shall be regular who are employees of the Board who have acquired at least one year's seniority.
7.02 The Employer shall instruct all members of its supervisory staff to co-operate Styrolution Canada Ltd. Sarnia Complex for lost time from their regular schedule spent in contract negotiation meetings with the stewards and union officers in carrying out the terms and requirements of this Agreement.
7.03 The Union shall secure from its officers, stewards and members their co-operation with the Employer and with all persons representing the Employer in any supervisory capacity.
7.04 The privilege of stewards and members of the Grievance Committee Company. Compensation will only be paid up to leave their work without loss of basic pay to attend to Union business is granted on the following conditions:
(a) Stewards and Grievance Committee members are only permitted to leave their work for Union business at meetings with management, or as otherwise approved by managementConciliation.
(b) The time shall Union will select its stewards and committees and the Company will recognize such representatives of the Union in their respective capacities. (c) Although the cost of all offsite Union business conducted by employees is unpaid, if advance approval in writing is given, the employee’s pay will be kept whole while on this union business. The stewards employee’s pay associated with this requested time off will be invoiced to and members paid by the Union on a quarterly basis. Such accounts rendered to the Union shall be paid within 30 days of the Grievance Committee concerned shall obtain prior approval of their supervisor outside the bargaining unit before leaving their work. The xxxxxxx or Grievance Committee member shall advise their supervisor date of the account. Notwithstanding the above, if it is necessary for the Chief Xxxxxxx to leave the site for the purpose of servicing a grievance (including attendance at arbitration hearings) filed under this Agreement, the Company will pay for all scheduled work time and location missed. Additionally the Company will pay up to 60 hours annually of scheduled time missed for miscellaneous offsite union business conducted by the Chief Xxxxxxx or his designate that pertains to the administration of the meeting and state the name of the management person who will be in attendance. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheldcollective agreement.
(d) The xxxxxxx Except as specifically provided for in this Agreement or Grievance Committee member shall contact their supervisor when they return in applicable legislation, no employee will be compensated for time to the work site so that a proper record conduct Union business, which falls outside of their union business may be kepthis regular scheduled hours.
(e) Each Xxxxxxx shall be an employee of the Company with not less than six (6) months seniority at the date of his/her appointment.
(f) The Board reserves Union will provide the right Company with a list of personnel comprised of the Union Executive and Stewards, and of any change in personnel, as and when any such change occurs.
(g) The Chief Xxxxxxx will be a working Xxxxxxx responsible for the performance of regular duties and will be allowed reasonable time from these regular duties as required to limit satisfy the demands of the Chief Xxxxxxx position. The Chief Xxxxxxx will be provided at no cost to the Union with an adequate office facility within the plant property, including office furniture and private telephone line. Any disputes arising from the application or interpretation of this clause will be handled in accordance with the procedure described in 4.03 (a).
(h) All new Union members and new employees coming within the scope of the Collective Agreement shall receive the Union’s Orientation Program. Adequate time and facilities shall be provided by the Company to the Union to accommodate the program. If requested by the Union this may be done at the Xxxxxx Street Hall.
4.2 Conferences will be held between the Company and a Union Committee at such time times as may be mutually agreed upon and a representative of the National Union and the Local Union President may be present at such conferences, if it deems the time Union so taken desires. Requests for conferences will be made:
(a) On behalf of the Company to the Chief Xxxxxxx.
(b) On behalf of the Union to the person responsible for site labour relations A written agenda of matters to be excessive.
