Common use of Union Convention/Conference/Education Leave Clause in Contracts

Union Convention/Conference/Education Leave. The Employer agrees to allow time off work without pay for employees to attend Union convention/conferences and/or education seminars for a period of not more than a total of fifteen (15) working days per year. Requests for more than one (1) employee at any one (1) time shall be decided by mutual agreement between the Employer and the Union. The Union will give the Employer two (2) weeks' notice in regard to such request to attend conventions/ conferences and/or education seminars. The Employer agrees to pay employees who attend Union conventions/conferences and/or education seminars as if they had worked and then to bill the Union accordingly. The Union agrees to reimburse the Employer in a timely manner.
