Graduation Leave. It is understood that in the case of secondary or post secondary graduation of self or spouse, son or daughter, one day leave with pay shall be granted. Two (2) days leave with pay shall be granted where travel arrangements necessitate such absence from school.
Graduation Leave. One (1) day leave of absence with pay per year shall be granted upon request to a teacher for the purpose of attending the teacher’s own graduation ceremonies at a recognized post-secondary institution.
Graduation Leave. A Teacher may use up to two (2) days per year for the purpose of the graduation of the Teacher, the Teacher’s spouse, or a dependant at the occasional teacher rate.
Graduation Leave. A leave of absence of one (1) day with pay shall be granted for the purpose of attending graduation. This applies to the graduation of the Educational Assistant, son, daughter or spouse from a post secondary institution.
Graduation Leave. An Employee upon request shall be granted one (1) day leave of absence with pay to enable them to attend the graduation ceremonies from a post-secondary institution or a high school outside the geographic boundaries of the Employee, their child(ren) or spouse. The Employee may be granted up to one (1) additional day leave with pay to travel if such graduation ceremonies are outside the Province.
Graduation Leave. Where operational requirements permit, in the opinion of the Board, leave with salary will be granted for a period of up to and including three (3) days to attend the graduation of the employee, a spouse, child, parent, brother, sister or grandchild of an employee or of an employee’s spouse when the ceremony takes place outside of Yellowknife. The employee shall be charged a fee equal to the current substitute pay for each of the additional days that may be approved by the Board. A full day will be available if the graduation is in Yellowknife.
Graduation Leave. An employee who graduates or whose spouse, son, or daughter is graduating from a twelfth grade level or higher will be eligible for up to one (1) day’s graduation leave with pay. To be eligible, leave must be requested and approved in advance. Additional days may be requested and where approved such additional days will be unpaid.
Graduation Leave. A teacher on a long term occasional contract shall be granted a one (1) day leave without loss of pay or sick leave credits when attending the teacher’s post-secondary graduation or that of a spouse, son, daughter, step-child, parent, or step-parent.
Graduation Leave. 1. A teacher may apply, in writing, to the Superintendent or designate, and shall be granted leave of absence:
a. with pay, for one (1) day, in order to attend graduation ceremonies of a university if he/she is to receive a degree;
b. with pay, for one (1) day, to enable him/her to attend the graduation ceremonies of a university if a child or spouse is to receive a degree;
c. with pay, for one (1) day, less the cost of substitute, to enable him/her to attend the graduation ceremonies of a university if a close relative is to receive a degree.
2. It is understood that the written application be submitted with a minimum notice of seven (7) working days prior to the date requested stating the reason for the request.
Graduation Leave. An employee shall also be granted one (1) day off with pay, charged to their sick leave, for purpose of attending the graduation exercises if the employee, employee's spouse or employee's child is graduating from a recognized course of study from a secondary school, college or university.
