Protected Leaves of Absence. In addition to the leaves set forth in this Collective Agreement, employees may be eligible for leaves of absence as provided in The Employment Standards Code. Eligibility for such leaves will be determined in accordance with The Employment Standards Code (Manitoba) and Regulations. Protected Leaves of Absence. A. The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 protects civilian job rights, and benefits for veterans, and members of Reserve components. Client agrees to provide for necessary employment, and/or reemployment positions in the event that Workers are called away for military service. B. The Family and Medical Leave Act protects re-instatement rights of eligible employees after the employee has been on approved Family and Medical Leave. Client agrees to provide necessary employment and/or reemployment positions in the event that Workers are returning from FMLA.

B. The Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) protects job rights, leave, benefits, and re-instatement rights of eligible employees after the employee has been on approved FMLA leave. Client agrees to provide for any necessary leaves of absence, employment, and/or reemployment positions in the event that Workers go on leave or return from leave, pursuant to the requirements of the FMLA.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).

  • LEAVES OF ABSENCE applies for both paid and unpaid leaves. For the purposes of an unpaid 11.25 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 14.05 hours. For the purposes of an unpaid 7.5 hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 9.375 hours.
