Paid Educational Leave a. An employee may request special paid leave at straight-time hourly rate which may be granted employees for educational purposes which will benefit the State by adding to or strengthening employee skills or knowledge and to allow employees to attend approved conferences, professional meetings and workshops.
b. The employer may require a report from the employee on paid educational leave describing the activities involved.
Paid Educational Leave. The Employer retains the sole discretion to either grant or deny requests for paid educational leaves of absence. Requests for paid educational leave shall be submitted at least one hundred and twenty (120) days in advance of the requested leave. The Employer agrees to either grant or deny such requests at least sixty (60) days prior to the requested leave. Failure to respond within the designated time limits shall not constitute approval of such requests.
Paid Educational Leave. 20.01 Five ($0.05) cents per regular hour worked for each employee shall be paid to the Union office in order to pay for Educational needs of the members. The above will be paid on a quarterly basis.
Paid Educational Leave. If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to a leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Where employees are required by the Employer to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Employer shall pay the full cost associated with the courses. The Executive Director may grant a request for unpaid leave of absence to upgrade employment qualifications, provided that she receives at least one (1) month's notice in writing unless impossible and provided that such a leave may be arranged without inconvenience to the normal operations of the Nursing Home. Applicants, when applying, must indicate the date of departure and specific date of return.
Paid Educational Leave. The Hospital recognizes the value of continuing education to the nurse. When the nurse participates in an educational program at the request of the Hospital, the nurse shall not incur any reduction in pay and any direct expenses will be paid. Consideration will continue to be given to all requests by nurses to attend educational meetings of their choice. Appropriateness of the education, staffing needs, and educational budget status shall determine whether or not the Chief Operating Officer, or designee, will grant the request and the manner of compensation both as to time off and to expenses. The Hospital agrees to furnish the Association with a copy of its current policies in regard to education upon request.
Paid Educational Leave. Paid time off shall be available for CME (Continuing Medical Education) leave for all full-time employees in this unit as described below. CME leave for part-time employees will be prorated. Each employee hired who uses any time earned during the first six (6) months of employment must sign a note which states that he/she will authorize a deduction from his/her last paycheck for the time used if he/she leaves County employment voluntarily within one (1) year of the date of hire. Time off for continuing medical education shall be by mutual agreement. Unused time shall not be carried over from year to year. Unused time shall have no cash value. Effective two weeks after final approval of this agreement by the Board of Supervisors – forty (40) hours per year. If contract ratification occurs outside of the fiscal year, any additional award during the fiscal year shall be prorated.

Paid Educational Leave. During the term of this agreement, the Company agrees to pay two cents (2¢) for each straight time hour worked, per employee, into a special fund identified for Paid Education Leave. As agreed, this fund is to be used for educational purposes. Such monies are to be paid on a quarterly basis to the CAW Leadership Training Fund and sent by the Company to the Paid Education Leave Training Program, X.X. Xxx 000, Xxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxx, X0X 0X0. The Union shall furnish the Company with an annual report outlining the use of the funds paid hereunder in educating employees of the Company.
