Common use of Union Functions - Leave of Absence Clause in Contracts

Union Functions - Leave of Absence. Leave of absence without pay, may be granted to employees for purposes of attending Union functions such as conferences, conventions, schools, seminars and negotiations provided always that the Union make written application for the leave of absence at least twenty-one (21) calendar days prior to the leave. The Company agrees to allow a maximum of two (2) employees time off without pay for the purpose of attending the negotiations for the renewal of the Collective Agreement provided the Union notifies the Company in writing of the names of the employees and the dates and times required for the leave, twenty-one (21) days in advance of the commencement of the leave.
