Common use of Union Job Stewards Clause in Contracts

Union Job Stewards. The Union may appoint or elect certain bargaining unit employees to serve as Union job stewards. There will be a total of two (2) stewards representing employees covered by this MOU. Consistent with operational needs, the Employer will allow reasonable release time as defined in Article 16, Grievance Actions of this MOU, without loss of compensation, to job stewards for the purpose of attending grievance meetings with the Employer. Typically, a complaint will have no more than one (1) Union representative (President or job xxxxxxx) in attendance at a grievance hearing. Exceptions may be granted by mutual agreement of the parties. This limitation does not apply to non-University employee staff representatives.
