Common use of Union Policy Grievances Clause in Contracts

Union Policy Grievances. The Union may institute a grievance consisting of an allegation, a general misinterpretation or a violation by the Employer of this Agreement in writing at Step No. 1 of the grievance procedure, providing that it is presented within ten (10) working days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have originated or occurred. However, it is expressly understood that the provisions of this clause may not be used to institute a grievance directly affecting an employee or employees which such employee or employees could themselves initiate and the regular grievance procedure shall not be thereby bypassed.

Union Policy Grievances. The A Union may institute a policy grievance consisting of which is defined as an allegation, a general misinterpretation or a alleged violation by the Employer of this Agreement concerning the Union as such or all or a substantial number of employees in the bargaining unit in regard to which an individual employee could not grieve may be lodged by an authorized representative of the Union in writing with the Company at Step No. 1 2 of the grievance procedure, providing that it is presented procedure at any time within ten five (105) full working days after the circumstances giving rise to such grievance occurred or originated, and if it is not satisfactorily settled it may be processed to arbitration in the same manner and to the same extent as the grievance have originated or occurred.
