Common use of Union Unpaid Leave of Absence- Unit K Only Clause in Contracts

Union Unpaid Leave of Absence- Unit K Only. The County may grant time off to employees for official Union business so long as the number of employees absent for Union business does not impose an unreasonable burden on the County and the County receives reasonable notice. Only one employee at a time may be granted leave per department (DSS, Health Department and NMC). In no case, shall cumulative Union leave exceed two consecutive pay periods per calendar year. To maintain medical benefits, one day of vacation or comp. time must be used by the worker if she/he is planning to use the two full consecutive pay periods.
