Upon Lay-off Due to Job Redundancy. (a) An employee with one (1) year seniority or more who is given written notice of layoff due to job redundancy is entitled to choose severance pay, at any time within sixty (60) calendar days from the effective date of layoff, in accordance with 16.2 (b). Upon acceptance of severance pay all seniority and recall rights under this Agreement are terminated. Should an employee not choose severance pay, the employee shall retain all seniority and recall rights under this Agreement. An employee not recalled before loss of recall rights, in accordance with Article 9.5, shall automatically be paid severance pay within one (1) calendar week of loss of recall rights.
