Year of Service definition

Year of Service means the computation period of twelve (12) consecutive months, herein set forth, during which an Employee has at least 1000 Hours of Service.
Year of Service means a full twelve-month period, measured from the date of an Award and each annual anniversary of that date, during which a Participant has not terminated Continuous Service for any reason.
Year of Service means the computation period of twelve (12) consecutive months, herein set forth, and during which an Employee has completed at least 1,000 Hours of Service (unless a lower number of Hours of Service is specified in the Adoption Agreement).

Examples of Year of Service in a sentence

  • If you have not been credited with 1,000 Hours of Service by the end of such period, you will have completed a Year of Service at the end of any following Plan Year during which you were credited with 1,000 Hours of Service.

  • To earn a Year of Service, you must be credited with at least 1,000 Hours of Service during a Plan Year.

  • You will be credited with a Year of Service at the end of the twelve month period beginning on your date of hire if you have been credited with at least 1,000 Hours of Service during such period.

  • The Administrator will track your service and will credit you with a Year of Service for each Plan Year in which you are credited with the required Hours of Service, in accordance with the terms of the Plan.

  • If this rule applies under the Employer's Plan, the Plan disregards a Participant's Years of Service (as defined in Section 2.02) earned prior to a Break in Service until the Participant completes another Year of Service and the Plan suspends the Participant's participation in the Plan.


More Definitions of Year of Service

Year of Service means an eligibility computation period during which the Employee completes not less than the number of Hours of Service specified in the Employer's Adoption Agreement. The initial eligibility computation period is the first 12 consecutive month period measured from the Employment Commencement Date. The Plan measures succeeding eligibility computation periods in accordance with the option selected by the Employer in its Adoption Agreement. If the Employer elects to measure subsequent periods on a Plan Year basis, an Employee who receives credit for the required number of Hours of Service during the initial eligibility computation period and during the first applicable Plan Year will receive credit for two Years of Service under Article II. "Employment Commencement Date" means the date on which the Employee first performs an Hour of Service for the Employer. If the Employer elects a service condition under Adoption Agreement Section 2.01 based on months, the Plan does not apply any Hour of Service requirement after the completion of the first Hour of Service.
Year of Service means an Employee's Months of Service divided by twelve (12) rounded to the nearest whole year, rounding up if the remaining number of months is seven (7) or greater and rounding down if the remaining number of months is less than seven (7). If an Employee has a break in his service with his Employing Company, he will receive credit under this Plan for the service prior to the break in service only if the break in service was less than five years and his service prior to the break exceeds the length of the break in service.
Year of Service means any Plan Year during which an individual completed at least 1,000 Hours of Employment, or satisfied any alternative requirement, as determined by the Plan Administrator in accordance with any applicable Regulations issued by the DOL and the IRS.
Year of Service means each continuous 12 month period of employment, including fractional portions thereof and periods of authorized vacation, authorized leave of absence and short-term disability leave, with Nucor Corporation and its Subsidiaries or their respective successors. Employment with an entity prior to the date it became a Subsidiary shall not be considered for purposes of determining Executive’s Years of Service unless the agreement pursuant to which the Subsidiary was acquired by Nucor Corporation provides otherwise or Nucor Corporation otherwise agrees in writing to consider such employment for purposes of determining Executive’s Years of Service.
Year of Service means each consecutive 12 month period, beginning with an Employee's date of hire and running without a termination of employment in which an Employee is credited with at least one hour of service in each of the 12 calendar months in such period. The taking of a LOA shall not eliminate a period of time from being a Year of Service if such period of time otherwise qualifies as such. Further if a particular 12 month period of time would not otherwise qualify under the Plan as a Year of Service because one hour of service is not credited during each month of such period due to the taking of a LOA, then such period of time shall be deemed to be a Year of Service for all other sections of this Plan.
Year of Service means a member shall, except in his or her first and last years of covered employment, be credited with years of service credit based upon the hours of service performed as covered employment and credited to the member during the plan year based upon the following schedule:
