Use and Scheduling of Vacation. 55.4.1 Employees shall submit their requests for vacation leave in accordance with the University Employee Leave Policy 2-30-060 and corresponding procedure. 55.4.2 Vacation leave will be granted at the employee’s request to care for a spouse, parent, parent-in-law, or grandparent of the employee who has a serious health condition or an emergency health condition, or to care for a child with a health condition that requires treatment or supervision. The supervisor may require that an employee submit a certificate from a health care provider verifying the need for vacation leave under this section. 55.4.3 For periods of Military Family Leave in accordance with WAC 357-31 and Domestic Violence Leave in accordance with WAC 357-31. 55.4.4 Vacation leave may not be used in advance of its accrual.
