Use of Long-Term Leave. a. Leave without pay for the year in which a birth/adoption occurs shall be granted to the parent requesting long-term leave for maternity/paternity/adoption. The maternity leave date established for the beginning of leave shall be determined by the employee and her physician. Requests for such leave shall be filed with the Superintendent’s office at least six (6) weeks prior to the beginning of the requested leave.
