Vocational Runs. No driver may engage in consecutive runs, even as a substitute. This means the a.m. driver may not drive the same day p.m. run, and the p.m. driver may not drive the next day a.m. run. Afternoon drivers who do not return to the bus garage will begin their time card at 3:00 p.m. For drivers who run both the regular a.m. run and the vocational a.m. run, the regular a.m. run will be clocked in at 8:30 a.m. Substitute drivers for vocational a.m. and p.m. runs will be determined by seniority but will follow previously established guidelines for day to day vocational runs. All vocational run drivers must ride the bus run prior to driving the run.
Vocational Runs. Vocational runs shall be awarded to the most-seniored drivers who express a desire to drive them on a full-year basis. Vocational runs shall be established by two criteria: (1) the run shall be a run assigned to a driver through the bidding process and (2) it shall be considered that driver’s run until it ends up being reassigned to another driver through the bidding process. Each vocational run, for retirement credit purposes, shall be considered three and one-half (3½) hours. They shall be paid: 2012-2013 Rate $41.37 per day The vocational run shall be offered on a substitute basis; first to other available regular bus drivers, on a most to least seniority basis, second to the driver of the other vocational run; and third to a substitute driver. The parties agree that the District, on days when it has notice of an absence by a regular vocational run driver, will first check with the most senior AM and PM driver who does not have another work assignment in the District and second with the other regular vocational run driver.
