Substitute Drivers. A driver, who temporarily replaces a regular full-time, or a regular part- time driver, and who accrues no seniority or other benefits under the terms of this agreement.
Substitute Drivers. Substitute drivers will not be called for seasonal/non- seasonal, or extra trips until all regular drivers have declined or are unavailable.
Substitute Drivers. Substitute bus drivers employed ninety (90) work days in a specific driving position (if the position is eligible for benefits) shall receive health, dental, vision, life and long term disability insurance benefits. All benefits will cease on the last day of the month the substitute driver is employed in that specific driving position. Substitute drivers may be transferred between routes, but still fulfilling the intent of “specific driving position” provision of this paragraph as determined by the transportation supervisor.
Substitute Drivers. A "substitute driver" shall be defined as a driver in the unit not assigned to a regular route. Drivers not assigned to a regular route and who do not sign up for designated routes will not be assigned to substitute those designated routes. If no driver on the substitute list is available, and then drivers will be assigned as in G.1 below. The Employer will diligently recruit and make every effort to maintain a substitute list of at least five (5) substitutes at all times. After the Employer has attempted to contact a substitute five (5) times and the substitute has refused or been unavailable for contact, then the Employer will drop that employee from the substitute list until the employee meets with the Employer. If the Employer does not hear from that employee within two (2) weeks of the last time the substitute was contacted, then the substitute will be dropped from all lists and any seniority will be terminated. The exceptions to this are legitimate refusals due to illness, emergencies or granted leaves of absence. If a substitute driver is unavailable because of a legitimate reason, he/she shall inform the transportation supervisor.
Substitute Drivers. When an employee is absent and a substitute is called in to fill the absence, the substitute will fulfill the scheduled driver's regular assignment for that period. Transportation assistants may, if qualified, be used as substitutes when needed and will be paid at the substitute driver rate or the transportation assistant rate, whichever is higher, for time worked in that position. This will be assigned by seniority on a rotation basis.
Substitute Drivers. When the regular driver of the A.M. shuttle is ill, a substitute will be hired for the shuttle in addition to the substitute for the regular A.M. run.
Substitute Drivers. Substitute drivers shall not be members of the Union. Their rate of pay shall be established by the Board, but shall not exceed the beginning rate of pay for bus drivers.
Substitute Drivers. Substitute drivers shall be used only when it is not possible to cover an assignment with a regular district driver. HH.
Substitute Drivers. Regularly scheduled substitute bus drivers will be assigned on a rotating basis. If the substitute bus driver does not answer when called, the date and time of the call will be recorded and the substitute caller will continue down the rotation list. Unless excused by administration, if a substitute driver refuses a substitute assignment on three (3) successive occasions, the substitute will lose all seniority and be placed at the bottom of the substitute seniority list. In the event the assignment is refused by all substitutes on the rotation list, the least senior substitute employee shall be required to work. Habitual refusal of opportunities to substitute shall be just cause to remove the substitute driver's name from the substitute list.
Substitute Drivers. 1. All Centers in which have feeder drivers assigned as an originat- ing Center location will have at least one (1) pre-qualified feeder driver within said Center in addition to the regular feeder driver(s) in order to substitute the regular vacations, leaves and absenteeism. Qualified substitute feeder drivers will fill the openings as they occur. It is understood that the first opportunity for coverage will be given to lay off feeder drivers.
2. Selections of substitute feeder drivers will be made according to Company seniority. In the event that no employee elects to become qualified as a substitute feeder driver, the Company can assign another.
