WATER CONSERVATION AND EFFICIENCY PROGRAMS. 1. The Council commits to identify, in cooperation with the Provinces, Basin-wide Water conservation and efficiency objectives to assist the Parties in developing their Water conservation and efficiency program. These objectives are based on the goals of: a. Ensuring improvement of the Waters and Water Dependent Natural Resources; b. Protecting and restoring the hydrologic and ecosystem integrity of the Basin; c. Retaining the quantity of surface water and groundwater in the Basin; d. Ensuring sustainable use of Waters of the Basin; and, e. Promoting the efficiency of use and reducing losses and waste of Water. 2. Within two years of the effective date of this Compact, each Party shall develop its own Water conservation and efficiency goals and objectives consistent with the Basin-wide goals and objectives, and shall develop and implement a Water conservation and efficiency program, either voluntary or mandatory, within its jurisdiction based on the Party’s goals and objectives. Each Party shall annually assess its programs in meeting the Party’s goals and objectives, report to the Council and the Regional Body and make this annual assessment available to the public. 3. Beginning five years after the effective date of this Compact, and every five years thereafter, the Council, in cooperation with the Provinces, shall review and modify as appropriate the Basin-wide objectives, and the Parties shall have regard for any such modifications in implementing their programs. This assessment will be based on examining new technologies, new patterns of Water use, new resource demands and threats, and Cumulative Impact assessment under Section 4.15. 4. Within two years of the effective date of this Compact, the Parties commit to promote Environmentally Sound and Economically Feasible Water Conservation Measures such as: a. Measures that promote efficient use of Water; b. Identification and sharing of best management practices and state of the art conservation and efficiency technologies; c. Application of sound planning principles; d. Demand-side and supply-side Measures or incentives; and, e. Development, transfer and application of science and research. 5. Each Party shall implement in accordance with paragraph 2 above a voluntary or mandatory Water conservation program for all, including existing, Basin Water users. Conservation programs need to adjust to new demands and the potential impacts of cumulative effects and climate.

The Grantee also agrees to comply with the State Water Board’s Drought Emergency Water Conservation regulations in sections 863-865 of title 23 of the California Code of Regulations. If applicable, the Grantee agrees to include a discussion of progress and compliance in its reports submitted pursuant to Exhibit B of this Agreement.

  • National Environmental Policy Act All subrecipients must comply with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) 42 U.S.C. 4321 et seq., and the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) Regulations (40 C.F.R. Parts 1500-1508) for Implementing the Procedural Provisions of NEPA, which requires Subrecipients to use all practicable means within their authority, and consistent with other essential considerations of national policy, to create and maintain conditions under which people and nature can exist in productive harmony and fulfill the social, economic, and other needs of present and future generations of Americans.

  • ENERGY POLICY AND CONSERVATION ACT COMPLIANCE To the extent applicable, Supplier must comply with the mandatory standards and policies relating to energy efficiency which are contained in the state energy conservation plan issued in compliance with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.

  • Historic Preservation Subrecipient agrees to comply with the Historic Preservation requirements set forth in the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (16 U.S.C. 470) and the procedures set forth in 36 CFR 800, Protection of Historic Properties, insofar as they apply to the performance of this Contract. In general, this requires concurrence from the State Historic Preservation Officer for all rehabilitation and demolition of historic properties that are fifty years old or older or that are included on a Federal, State, or local historic property list.

  • Energy Policy and Conservation Act Both parties hereby agree to comply with all mandatory standards and policies relating to energy efficiency, which are contained in the state energy conservation plan issued in compliance with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (Pub. L. 94-163, 89 Stat. 871).

  • Portability (a) Employees are able to maintain their participation in the scheme should they transfer their employment between Catholic schools or to the Catholic Education Office. (b) The employee is obliged to notify the principal prior to appointment of their participation in the Deferred Salary Scheme and the date that leave is due to be taken. (c) Participation in the Deferred Salary Scheme shall not impede an application for employment in a Catholic school.
