– WORK BOOTS ALLOWANCE Sample Clauses

– WORK BOOTS ALLOWANCE. The City will contribute four hundred dollars ($400) per employee per year toward the purchase of a pair of work boots. The contribution shall be used toward the purchase of a pair of work boots, appropriate to each employee's assignment and responsibility (i.e. steel toed boot vs. basic boot), as determined by the Director of Community Services. Said contribution will be in the form of a voucher to be used at one (1) of three (3) vendors selected by the Association. If the cost of a pair of work boots is less than the total amount of the boot voucher, the employee may use any remaining amount toward the purchase of boot dressing, shoelaces, socks, and related items. Employees may instead elect to request two (2) vouchers per year each in the amount equal to one-half (1/2) of the annual contribution. Employees may then purchase two (2) less expensive pairs of boots each year. If an employee chooses the option of a voucher, a minimum of five (5) months must pass before that employee is eligible for the second (2nd) voucher. If the boot purchase is less than the voucher amount, the employee may use the remaining amount as stated above. It will be the employee's responsibility to keep the boots clean and in good repair. It is further the employee’s responsibility to wear their work boots at all times in the performance of their duties. Vendor selection and voucher system arrangements will be the responsibility of the Community Services Department. The voucher(s) will be issued on or before August 1 of each year. Employees who elect to purchase boots within sixty (60) days of their effective date of termination shall have the cost of the boots deducted from their final paycheck.
