Common use of Work on a Day Off Clause in Contracts

Work on a Day Off. When an employee works on a scheduled day off, work performed on that day shall be compensated at one and one-half (1½) times the basic rate for the first seven (7) hours and double (2) time thereafter. Employees so assigned shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay at the applicable rate. The provisions of Article 17 shall apply as appropriate. (a) When an employee works on both Saturday and Sunday, work performed on the Sunday shall be compensated at two (2) times the basic rate. (b) When an employee works on the first day in an unbroken series of consecutive and contiguous days off and designated holidays, the employee shall be compensated for all hours worked on the second or subsequent day in the series at two (2) times the basic rate.
