WORK RELATED INJURY OR ILLNESS LEAVE. 9-9-1 Each contract year, employees temporarily absent from work and unable to perform their duties as a result of a personal injury incurred in the scope and course of their employment, as verified in a written statement from the district’s medical provider concerning the employee’s inability to return to work, shall receive a maximum of twenty (20) days of injury leave at their regular salary; any workers compensation will be paid directly to the District. This benefit does not apply in cases where modified light duty within the teacher’s job classification is recommended by the medical provider and is available. These days will not be chargeable against excused leave.
