XXXXXXXX LEAVE OF ABSENCE. 1. A Parental Leave of Absence is an absence from duty which shall be provided for the purpose of caring for a newborn child, a newly adopted child, or which may be provided for the purpose of caring for a minor child when the health of the child requires parental care. This leave is provided without salary or fringe benefits. Teachers who have been employed full time during the last three (3) consecutive years and who have been offered a contract for the ensuing school year shall be eligible for application for a Parental Leave of Absence.
