Years of Service for Visiting Appointments. If a faculty member with a visiting appointment is given a regular appointment, and the faculty member has been evaluated each year in accordance with Article 16, Evaluation, and the assignment is similar, all consecutive years of service with a visiting appointment shall be retroactively counted towards tenure, sabbatical leave, or any other term or condition of employment with a longevity requirement.

  • Years of Service (i) A Participant’s Years of Service shall include all service performed for the Employer and ¨ Shall ¨ Shall Not include service performed for the Related Employer.

  • Visiting Appointments A "visiting" appointment is one made to a person having appropriate professional qualifications but not expected to be available for more than a limited period, or to a person in a position which the University does not expect to be available for more than a limited period. A visiting appointment may be offered in single or multi-year appointments not to exceed a total of four (4) consecutive years.

  • Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.

  • Method of Making Appointments In making staff changes, transfers or promotions, appointment shall be made of the applicant with the required knowledge, ability and skills, and where two (2) or more applicants are equally capable of fulfilling the duties of the position, seniority of years of service with the employer shall be the determining factor. The employees shall retain the right of appeal under the grievance procedure contained in this Agreement.

  • Probation for Newly Hired Employees (a) The Employer may reject a probationary employee for just cause. A rejection during probation shall not be considered a dismissal for the purpose of Article 11.2
