Academic License definition

Academic License. The Academic License is limited to Client’s using the Software for education and research purposes only and comes with absolutely no warranty. The Client must be an entity specialized in education and research in order to benefit from the Academic License. The Client requests an Academic License on the Website, and the Licensor decides, in its discretion, whether it shall grant such Academic License to the Client based on a number of objective criteria, namely the teaching mission of the Client and its non-profit research activity. The Academic License is free when limited to 1 computer and 1 concurrent User. For other usages, License Fees shall be paid by the Client to the Licensor. The License Key will be sent to the Client after receipt of the Purchase Order by the Client and payment of the License Fees. Any commercial use is strictly prohibited. Only strictly personal use is authorized. Using the Software (whether for a fee or not) for the benefit of any other entity is forbidden to the Client regardless of the commercial or noncommercial nature of this entity.
Academic License means a license of Academic Products solely for educational or public research purposes to a Customer that has been identified by SISW as an Academic Institution or Student.
Academic License means the Amended and Restated License Agreement, effective as of September 29, 2011, by and among NYU, SAMSF and Intellect USA, Inc.

Examples of Academic License in a sentence

  • If the Software is designated as a Campus License or Academic License, use of the Software is restricted to students and faculty at qualified academic institutions for research and teaching purposes.

  • This Maintenance service does not apply to the Developer Academic License.

  • Instructional/teaching and/or research use is only permitted if the user’s employer has purchased a Full Academic License or Restricted Academic License, as applicable.

  • If Company identifies a Software license as an Academic License, the Customer must be an academic institution or other qualifying non-profit organization and may use up to the maximum number of copies of the Software that have been validly obtained pursuant to the License.

  • An Academic License is granted to a Student without Maintenance Services of any kind.


More Definitions of Academic License

Academic License shall have the meaning as set out in section 3.4 to this Agreement.

Academic License means a License issued to an academic institution or similar for the sole purposes of education and/or research (e.g., PhD thesis, conference paper); copies of which should be provided to the Licensor upon completion. Any analysis work performed with an Academic License must be for non-commercial purposes. Licensee and its Contract Users must be or be affiliated with an academic facility. In addition to its employees and Contract Users, Licensee may permit individuals who are students at such academic facility to access and use the Program(s). TECS for the Academic License(s) will be provided at the sole discretion of Licensor and/or its Affiliates and/or Distributors. In the event TECS is provided, Section 11 of the Agreement shall apply. B "Affiliate" of a company means any person or other entity directly or indirectly controlling, controlled by, or under common control of such company. A joint venture shall not be considered an Affiliate of either party. 'control' in this context means having the direct or indirect ownership or control of the voting rights attached to more than 50% of the issued ordinary share capital of an entity, or the ability to control directly or indirectly the appointment of a majority of the board of management of an entity.
