Air Pollution Episode definition

Air Pollution Episode means a period when a forecast, alert, warning, or emergency air pollution state is declared, as stated in chapter 173-435 WAC.
Air Pollution Episode means a combination of forecast or actual meteorological conditions and emissions of air contaminants which may or do present an imminent and substantial endangerment to the health of persons, during which the chief meteorological factors are the absence of winds that disperse air contaminants horizontally and a stable atmospheric layer which tends to inhibit vertical mixing through relatively deep layers.
Air Pollution Episode means a period of time during which high air contaminant concentrations are or may be brought about by meteorological parameters which are conducive to the poor dispersion of air contaminants. "High concentrations" means those concentrations which may result in significant harm to human health or welfare. An Air Pollution Episode is defined to exist only when either a County-wide or Localized Air Pollution Watch is in effect.

More Definitions of Air Pollution Episode

Air Pollution Episode means high levels of air pollution existing for an extended period (24 hours or more) of time which may cause acute harmful health effects during periods of atmospheric stagnation, without vertical or horizontal ventilation. This occurs when there is a high pressure air mass over an area, a low wind speed and there is a temperature inversion. Other factors such as humidity may also affect the episode conditions.
Air Pollution Episode. Means a period when a fore- cast, alert, warning, or emergency air pollution stage is declared as described in RCW 70.94.715.
Air Pollution Episode means a day on which generally unhealthy air (an Air Quality Index value of 151 or greater) occurs or is forecast to occur by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Air Pollution Episode means an occasion when air contamination is at such a level and for such a period of time that the air contamination may become the cause of increased human sickness and mortality;
Air Pollution Episode means the occurrence of adverse meteorological conditions during which air pollutants accumulate, so that the pollutant is exposed to an elevated concentration of airborne contaminants.
Air Pollution Episode means a day on which generally unhealthy air (an Air Quality Index value of 151 or greater) occurs or is forecast to occur by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) temporary prohibition of open burning activities by the Department of Environmental Protection that is based upon a forecast of a stagnant atmospheric meteorological condition not allowing the dispersion of air pollutants.
Air Pollution Episode means a situation which is declared by responsible authorities as set forth in 9 VAC 5 Chapter 70 (9 VAC 5-70-10 et seq.) when weather or air pollution conditions or both indicate a potential threat to human health.
