In April of 1984 the ALUC adopted the Riverside County Airport Land Use Plan (RCALUP).
The California State Aeronautics Act (Public Utilities Code Section 21670 et seq.) requires that an Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan be prepared for all public use airports in the State; and requires that local land use plans and individual development proposals must be consistent with the policies set forth in the adopted Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan.
On August 7, 1973, the Board of Supervisors and the Mayor of each city designated the San Joaquin Council of Governments as the appropriate agency to assume the planning responsibilities of the Airport Land Use Commission.
The ALUC is responsible for preparing and enforcing an Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (ALUCP) around each public access airport in San Joaquin County.
