Alternative Assets definition

Alternative Assets means derivatives, real estate, commodities, private placements, loans, infrastructure holdings, private equity holdings, hedge fund holdings or such other assets (i) not typically held in book-entry form and (ii) not typically held in accounts registered in the name of the Custodian or a Subcustodian, in each case as determined by the Custodian.
Alternative Assets means, in connection with any proposed Asset Disposition pursuant to the terms of Section 8.4(b)(v), fixed assets (whether new, additional or replacement assets but exclusive of assets acquired in the course of regular upkeep and maintenance) which are similar in nature or purpose to other assets owned or leased by the Borrower and/or its Subsidiaries prior to or at the time of the acquisition of such fixed assets and useful in the conduct of the business of the Borrower and its Subsidiaries as permitted to be conducted pursuant to Section 8.3.
Alternative Assets means interests in limited partnerships, limited liability companies, companies or other vehicles and any other unrated assets generally filed on Schedule BA of a life insurance company’s annual financial statement.

Examples of Alternative Assets in a sentence

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the Custodian will not perform any other services or assume any obligations in relation to Alternative Assets.

  • The Custodian may, in limited cases, agree to register the Client’s interests in Alternative Assets in the name of the Custodian, subject to additional documentation and other requirements as the Custodian may specify from time to time.

  • The Custodian may agree to reflect the Client’s Alternative Assets on its books, records or statements.

Alternative Assets set forth in Section 1.1 of the Existing Credit Agreement is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows:
Alternative Assets means investments that are not included in the traditional asset classes of cash, fixed income, and shares. Depending on the alternative assets’ characteristics and suitability they may substitute in the Fund for either income or growth assets. Alternative assets may include (but are not limited to) private equity, forestry, infrastructure, carbon offset credits, social bonds, social or environmental impact and other developing asset types with a sustainable investment focus.
Alternative Assets means, in connection with any proposed sale of assets constituting an Excluded Sale, fixed assets (whether new, additional or replacement assets but exclusive of assets acquired in the course of regular upkeep and maintenance) which (a) are similar in nature or purpose to other assets owned or leased by the Borrower and/or its Restricted Subsidiaries prior to or at the time of the acquisition of such fixed assets and useful in the conduct of the business of the Borrower and its Restricted Subsidiaries as permitted to be conducted pursuant to Section 8.09 and (b) have a fair market value at least equal to the amount required pursuant to subdivision (f)(ii) of Section 8.07 to be applied to the purchase or acquisition or construction thereof.
Alternative Assets means in connection with any Disposition permitted by Section 13.7(k), (a) fixed assets which (i) are useful in the ordinary course of the business of the Company and its Subsidiaries as permitted to be conducted pursuant to Section 13.9 and (ii) have a fair market value at least equal to the purchase price thereof or (b) capital stock of any Person, but only if upon the purchase of such capital stock by the Company or a Subsidiary, such Person becomes a Subsidiary Guarantor pursuant to Section 12.9.
Alternative Assets means, on any date, the result obtained by multiplying (i) the Value on such date of the aggregate gross assets of the U.S. Plans by (ii) the percentage which represents the policy allocation to Alternative Investments’ for the Hourly and Salaried Plans (as defined in Exhibit A) as approved from time to time by the IPC (disregarding, for purposes of calculating the Base Assets Fee and the Alternative Assets Fee, any ranges around such policy allocation as may be so approved), it being understood that such policy allocation to Alternative Investments as of the date of the Agreement is 13%;
