Carbon Free Energy definition

Carbon Free Energy means Energy deliveries from Carbon Free Sources.
Carbon Free Energy means three-phase, 60-cycle alternating current electric energy, expressed in megawatt-hours, produced by any Carbon-Free Resource or any Eligible Renewable Resource.
Carbon Free Energy means Energy deliveries from Carbon Free Sources. “Carbon Free Source” means any Specified Source, except for nuclear-powered generation assets, that is located within the WECC and that is considered by the State of California to have zero Greenhouse Gas emissions in accordance with the Regulation for the Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (title 17, California Code of Regulations, sections 95100 to 95133). Carbon Free Source does not include any Renewable Energy Credits or any Energy source with an e-tag with a source point associated with a nuclear or coal-fired generating resource. “CEC” means the California Energy Commission, or any successor agency performing similar statutory functions. “Compliance Obligation” has the meaning set forth by the Cap and Trade Regulations. “Firm” means, with respect to a transaction, that either Party shall be relieved of its obligations to sell and deliver or purchase and receive without liability only to the extent that, and for the period during which, such performance is prevented by Force Majeure (EEI)/Uncontrollable Force (WSPP). In the absence of Force Majeure (EEI)/Uncontrollable Force (WSPP), the Party to which performance is owed shall be entitled to receive damages from the Party which failed to deliver/receive in an amount determined in accordance with the Agreement. “Holiday” means any day designated as a holiday by NERC. “MW” means megawatts in alternating current, unless expressly stated in terms of direct current. “MWh” means megawatt-hour measured in alternating current, unless expressly stated in terms of direct current. “Off Peak” hours means Mondays through Saturdays hours ending (HE) 0100-0600 and HE 2300-2400 PPT, and all day Sundays and Holidays. “Peak” hours means HE 0700-2200 PPT Mondays through Saturdays, excluding Holidays. “Power Content Label or PCL” means the annual CEC Power Content Label, as enacted by Assembly Bill 1110 (Statute of 2016), Assembly Bill 162 (Statute of 2009), and Senate Bill 1305 (Statutes of 1997). “Scheduling Coordinator” has the meaning set forth in the CAISO Tariff. “Specified Source” means a Project that is a “specified source”, as such term is defined in the Mandatory Reporting Rule. “Unspecified Sources of Power” means electricity that is not traceable to a specific generation source (e.g., what is commonly known as “market” or “system” power) by any auditable contract.

  • Gas company means any person distributing gas within the corporate limits or authorized and proposing to so engage.

  • Natural gas company ’ means a person engaged in the transportation of natural gas in interstate commerce, or the sale in inter- state commerce of such gas for resale.

  • Geothermal energy means energy contained in heat that continuously flows outward from the earth that is used as the sole source of energy to produce electricity.

  • Renewable energy means the grid quality electricity generated from renewable energy sources;

  • Transportation Company means any organization which provides its own or its leased vehicles for transportation or which provides freight forwarding or air express services.

  • Renewable energy resources means energy derived from solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and hydroelectricity. A fuel cell using hydrogen derived from these eligible resources is also an eligible electric generation technology. Fossil and nuclear fuels and their derivatives are not eligible resources.

  • Generating Company means any company or body corporate or association or body of individuals, whether incorporated or not, or artificial juridical person, which owns or operates or maintains a generating station;

  • Rechargeable Electrical Energy Storage System (REESS) means the rechargeable energy storage system that provides electric energy for electrical propulsion.

  • Energy means electricity, natural gas, steam, hot or chilled water, fuel oil, or other product for use in a building, or renewable on-site electricity generation, for purposes of providing heating, cooling, lighting, water heating, or for powering or fueling other end-uses in the building and related facilities, as reflected in Utility bills or other documentation of actual Energy use.

  • Renewable energy resource means a resource that naturally replenishes over a human, not a geological, time frame and that is ultimately derived from solar power, water power, or wind power. Renewable energy resource does not include petroleum, nuclear, natural gas, or coal. A renewable energy resource comes from the sun or from thermal inertia of the earth and minimizes the output of toxic material in the conversion of the energy and includes, but is not limited to, all of the following:

  • renewable energy sources means renewable sources such as small hydro, wind, solar including its integration with combined cycle, biomass, bio fuel cogeneration, urban or municipal waste and other such sources as approved by the MNRE;

  • Renewable Energy Source means an energy source that is not fossil carbon-based, non- renewable or radioactive, and may include solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, landfill gas, or wave, tidal and thermal ocean technologies, and includes a Certified Renewable Energy Source.

  • Eligible Renewable Energy Resource or “ERR” has the meaning set forth in California Public Utilities Code Section 399.12 and California Public Resources Code Section 25741, as either code provision is amended or supplemented from time to time.

  • Annual Energy Use means, (i) with respect to the first 5 years following the Effective Date, the annual electricity usage, expressed in kilowatt hours (“kWhs”), within the Party’s respective jurisdiction and (ii) with respect to the period after the fifth anniversary of the Effective Date, the annual electricity usage, expressed in kWhs, of accounts within a Party’s respective jurisdiction that are served by the Authority and (b) “Total Annual Energy” means the sum of all Parties’ Annual Energy Use.   • Generation Owner means a Member that owns, leases with rights equivalent to ownership, or otherwise controls and operates one or more operating generation resources located in the PJM Region. The foregoing notwithstanding, for a planned generation resource to qualify a Member as a Generation Owner, such resource shall have cleared an RPM auction, and for Energy Resources, the resource shall have a FERC-jurisdictional interconnection agreement or wholesale market participation agreement within PJM. Purchasing all or a portion of the output of a generation resource shall not be sufficient to qualify a Member as a Generation Owner. For purposes of Members Committee sector classification, a Member that is primarily a retail end- user of electricity that owns generation may qualify as a Generation Owner if: (1) the generation resource is the subject of a FERC-jurisdictional interconnection agreement or wholesale market participation agreement within PJM; (2) the average physical unforced capacity owned by the Member and its affiliates over the five Planning Periods immediately preceding the relevant Planning Period exceeds the average PJM capacity obligation of the Member and its affiliates over the same time period; and (3) the average energy produced by the Member and its affiliates within PJM over the five Planning Periods immediately preceding the relevant Planning Period exceeds the average energy consumed by the Member and its affiliates within PJM over the same time period. Generation Resource Maximum Output:

  • Renewable energy system means a fixture, product, device, or interacting group of fixtures, products, or devices on the customer's side of the meter that use 1 or more renewable energy resources to generate electricity. Renewable energy system includes a biomass stove but does not include an incinerator or digester.

  • Electric utility steam generating unit means any steam electric generating unit that is constructed for the purpose of supplying more than one-third of its potential electric output capacity and more than 25 MW electrical output to any utility power distribution system for sale. Any steam supplied to a steam distribution system for the purpose of providing steam to a steam-electric generator that would produce electrical energy for sale is also considered in determining the electrical energy output capacity of the affected facility.

  • Renewable energy project means (A) a project

  • Renewable energy facility means an electric generation unit or other facility or installation that produces electric energy using a Renewable Energy Source.
